Content Update 3.11.0 -- Path of Exile: Harvest
GGG, I am quite sure you put down a lethal strike to the player retention of this league with these patch notes, I am not sure what I should think about this, overall I dont know what your thinking at all anymore , sure you want to keep the game balanced and dont want some godly build arising,
but you really should start looking at currency and time investment which players have to pay to enable a certain kind of viability to their build, you start calling a build busted the moment it can clear an endgame boss with ease, but what you really should look at are the investments needed for this. Poe was never a bossing game and will most likely neve be one where you will have to put 100% of your skill into the game to beat a boss, it was always kill or to be killed, you are missing several things to make it the one thing you want it to be. 1.Fair and visiual obvious boss attacks 2.Normal monster encounters have weaknesses (not the typical be lucky or you gonna eat ass playstyle) 3.Balanced skills but these things arent achieveable, if you only focus on speed and viability of a certain build. By the gods, start focusing on the monsters instead of the players if you want the game to be like this. And by the way, POE was always a game for me where I could get my character to beat the whole content only by playing and planning my build enough, but afterall you still plan POE to become some borderline Dark Souls, where you dont even want people to kill endgame content with ease even with an extremely long planned and costly build... Now grants 9% more Physical Damage at gem level 1, up to 12% more Physical Damage at gem level 20.” Great, goodbye circle of guilt cyclone builds… “Orb of Storms Now has an added Damage effectiveness of 65% (from 70%).” Second nerf to Orb of Storms in a row since Blight league… :/ “Wave of Conviction Now has an added Damage effectiveness of 220% (from 160%).” yay :P “Vaal Molten Shell Now grants 25 additional armour at gem level 1 (from 60), up to 429 additional armour at gem level 20 (from 1030). Now grants 20% more armour at gem level 1, up to 29% more armour at gem level 20. Now causes 30% of Damage taken from hits to be taken from the buff before your life or energy shield at gem level 1, up to 35% at gem level 20 (from 80% at all levels). The buff can now take Damage equal to 30% of your armour (from 60%), up to a maximum of 30000. Now reflects 300% of Damage taken from buff as Fire Damage each second or when the buff expires or is depleted at gem level 1 (from 100%), up to 9000% at gem level 20 (from 3000%). Now removes and is removed by any other Guard skill.” Well, there goes one of the few actually useful vaal defensive skills… “Timeless Jewel Keystone passives have become a popular feature for many builds, but are prohibitively difficult to acquire (especially without trade). We've moved some of the most build-defining Keystones out of the Timeless Jewels and into the tree itself. These Keystones have been added to the tree: The Agnostic, Glancing Blows, Supreme Ego, Wind Dancer and Eternal Youth.” Good, very good. Although maybe leave SOME timeless jewel specific nodes tied to the timeless jewels? Otherwise, what is the point of timeless jewels? Either way, I’m glad these are on the tree now. “Voidforge now has 30-60% increased Physical Damage (from 50-100%).” “Starforge: Now has 200-300% increased Physical Damage (from 400-500%). Now gains a 30% increased Global Physical Damage implicit by default, overriding the basetype. A little overkill don’t you think? What is the point of it being reduced in damage this much if you can only get it from a difficult end-game boss? It’s supposed to be OP if it’s from a hard end-game boss… “Existing items can be ruthlessly brought back into a reasonable balance state with a Divine Orb.” No thank you “Circle of Fear, Nostalgia, Regret, Anguish and Guilt: The randomly generated Herald Modifiers now grant 15-20% reduced Reservation Cost of their respective Heralds (from 30-40%), and 40-60% increased Buff Effect of their respective Heralds (from 70-100%).” WHYYYYYYY…….. “Zana League Mods Available During 3.11.0” Nemesis, thank you. These patch notes makes me less excited to play melee than i have
been in a long time. You are attempting to shoehorn us into playing slam because it fits your league. You reduce the power of dual wield to force a slow hard-hitting play style. The problem with this is that you have systematically molded the game to be clear speed focused. At the same time, a lot of other play styles goes untouched. Even a bad summoner or miner build outperforms a good melee build now days. I like to play melee. But the patch notes this league makes me feel punished for playing melee. It feels like i am being forced to play summoner or miner to be even remotely competitive. And while i know not all agree with this feeling, i am certain that there are people that are. Can anyone from grinding gear games give any form of explanation to this way of thinking? Because i see no reason to do this. I almost feel betrayed by the game developers. Education is what you get from reading the small print.
