[3.13] CoC Bladefall | Screen-wide 40m+ DPS | 10k+ ES | High defense | Any content | Very expensive
Hello! Why u use sceptre? We can use dagger with explode implicit?
| |
Hey, I made a helmet for the time being, I really hope my awakener orb is gonna hit decent ES or something, I would really like having 250ES on it.
Been playing the build for a day now, its fun, has good damage (though I would have expected it to be a bit more with my investment, but I am missing A LOT of stuff) and its definitely definitely durable/tanky. Ran 60% delirium with insane map mods and beyond only died once cause i didnt have my freeze flask up. I have two more questions: In your PoB, you have hit above 52% cdr, but your attack rate is nowhere near the optimal amount. If I awakener orb'd cdr/tailwind boots I would hit 52% as well, but would it be worth it without the minimum frenzy charges on my gear? I mean with lvl 20 blood rage and silver flask (which I won't use in the final form of the build) I have 7.5 attacks so I can trigger CoC efficiently but if I go for the next cdr breakpoint AND change my flask I will have maybe a bit more (cause I gain tailwind but lose onslaught). Is this still good? I mean obviously you seem to be doing a lot of damage but it seems wierd to me. Also, what should I upgrade next, after my helmet? I know I'm missing aspect and I can slam crit on my septre
Spoiler
edit: I got a vulnerability ring now, and even without precision and bottled faith my effective crit is about 97%, so I will swap to aspect of the spider next Last edited by TrafficLi9HT on Jan 24, 2021, 7:43:20 AM

" I guess bcs of the overlord node on megalomaniac, it gives you perma fortify and you cant use it with daggers |
|
" It is explained in [Defense layers] section and Akisailent already answered your question, but just to confirm - this is primarily because of the Overlord node which gives you easy access to Fortify buff. Also, as a side note, I found scepters much easier to craft caster modifiers on compared to daggers (at least ones with high crit/aspd), although I didn't thoroughly check the mod pools on both to confirm this so take that observation with a grain of salt.
" Looking at the gear you linked - you still don't have Awakened Spell Cascade, so it's not really surprising that damage might feel underwhelming. I said it before, but I'll emphasize it once again - Awakened Spell Cascade is a must have for this build and should approximately give you 35~45% more damage. Also there are some trade-offs you can make to gain more damage but lose a portion of defense. I personally always prefer a well balanced option, but some people prefer pushing the damage to it's maximum. As for CDR-related question - I had it optimized at some point of the build, but then I've added some upgrades that pushed CDR higher but weren't able to get more attack speed anywhere. So yes, it does lag behind on the PoB that I have in the post, but it is what it is - you can't always get all the gear you want. So you have to fix CDR & attack speed in your own build according to the gear you have or can acquire. If you need more CDR - get it, but if you don't need it - then leave it for later, maybe when you'll get +2 minimum frenzy or aspd mod on gloves. The only thing you need to make sure is that your trigger cooldown (on Bladefall) is lower than attack time (on Cyclone), you can clearly see that in PoB in the left side on the stats if you select Bladefall and in the Calcs section for Cyclone. My PoB from the post has 0.12 attack time and 0.10 trigger cooldown, that is a CDR overkill, yes, but you don't lose any dps because of that. As for the last question (regarding what you should upgrade) - I guess I already answered it above, but I'll emphasize it again - get Awakened Spell Cascade first. It's a big investment (12~14ex rn in Ritual SC) and it will get cheaper later on, but it's not worth waiting. Then you can get Bottled Faith - it's also a pretty big damage upgrade & overall QoL with it's extra regen on large consecrated ground and easy crit cap for both Cyclone and Bladefall. After that - maybe 2nd curse-on-hit ring and either annoint Whispers of Doom or find a corrupted amulet with +1 curse (that would most probably cost 40-60ex+ though). Or go for some smaller upgrades instead. Last edited by mgarin on Jan 24, 2021, 12:13:51 PM

Would this be doable as CI before saving up for the expensive parts? Or better to do something else until then?

" Imo it's better to stay in life version until you can afford 6L Shav if you really want to start playing this build asap. But if you really want to switch to ES version early on - I guess you can go with CI for the time being. But overall - it's better to not even start this build unless you have funds for at least a few basic necessary things (6L Shav, Awakened Spell Cascade, weapon, some ES gear, clusters), you won't have a good time.
" You need the weapon, cluster jewels and preferably Awakened Spell Cascade. Otherwise you seem to have most of other stuff necessary, even more expensive things like transcendent flesh or watcher's eye, so you should be able to switch over to this build. You can check some weapon crafting tips in the 2nd post in this thread. Also yes, I would recommend replacing the helmet & gloves with high ES rares with some resistances for the start, otherwise it might be pretty hard to reach resistance cap. And also anoint Tranquility on amulet - that's a small upgrade that will give a fair damage boost.
" Thanks for the answer. Crafted such a scepter today, will it work? And the question is about strength and dexterity. What are their sources? |
