I think most of the overreaction is hot takes but I can understand where they are coming from. Yes, the class will still be viable, but you have to keep in mind that Harvest trivialized the investment it takes to get some of the builds going. If you take the nerfs and compare the results you can get with something else for far less investment you will end up just not playing it. Most of the people's anger stems from genuinely enjoying that one playstyle and wanting to stick with it. The way the cycles work in this game it prevents newer and more casual players from ever getting comfortable with one playstyle because it's typically changed.
For example, say someone started Harvest as a spellslinger necro or w/e and learned only about that class and didn't even kill A8. Seems not possible for some of us but it happens. That person is frustrated because now they have to relearn how to not die hundreds of times on something else they might not enjoy. For the record, I don't care about the nerfs I just prefer they would just scale monsters over constantly having players adapt to their nerf hammers. It only affects newer/casual players while the rest will have just about the same faceroll experience. Just my opinion. |

Kinda knew Spellslinger would get nerfed. Everything I play in a league ends up getting nerfed in the next league.

One thing I don't get is why nerf glancing blows that you take more damage from blocked hits instead of fixing the real problem...
Glancing blows should read "...and on block effects are 50% less effective". There, balanced it. Glancing blows is only good because it allows double proc rate of on block effects. Make them half as effective and it evens itself out. Could also hit the 5% mana / life / es on block mods and just nerf their values... bone offering is already taken care of with 25% nerf on misstress of sacrifice. Everyone's saying block characters are more tanky and more reliable than dodge characters. You know why? Cuz there's no "regen 5% life when you dodge" mods. On a side note, enduring cry nerf is kinda weird too because the biggest problem is whether your build can reach call to arms or no... If you can, it's a nobrainer to put enduring cry in your build. Jesus, so we finally have some decent hardcore defenses and now we have none again? glad they took hardcore into account when totally re-balancing glancing blows, glorious vanity and enduring cry...
here is a wonderful idea, lets make a game that has hardcore have no reliable defensive mechanics against the guaranteed one shot... I used to laugh at Mathil for saying hardcore is stupid but now I kind of agree. I feel like I am going to play hardcore, lose a lvl 90 character and go to softcore and then never play the game again because the thrill isn't there anymore. The game is by far to complicated nowadays and only balanced for streamers or people who play 15 hours plus a day. It misses the old days when it was actually fun and a normal person could understand the game. I personally also dislike the new atlas system and the Sirus fight is stupid. Missing the old days. Can't make a game successful if you only cater to 0.5% of your playerbase.

I feel you bud.. Hit level 100 on my necro and went through the grind. I build all the best defense I could formulate into my build such as tons of flat physical DR making armor scaling very easy for me. I had 90% physical DR/ Max blocks because of offering effect chest ( +29% ) 15% phys taken as chaos/ 12% Phys as fire/ 3 Minimum Endurance charges/ 800 life recovery from block ( Bone offering, Glancing Blows ) 600 life a sec regen/ Divine Flesh @ 90% chaos resist/ -74% reduced critical strike damage taken. And you know what, because I put so many points into getting that defense, I really felt the outcome of my build underperforming but they literally nerfed every single thing I used. Why they always feel the need to screw with necro's is beyond me. I haven't seen the 300m+ dps Archer Ice Shot builds touched, I haven't seen Cyclone nerfs, Aurabot nerfs. They need to stop being the problem and fix what's truly at hand. If you're going to hurt the builds that rely on these defensive mechanics to live, They need to take from the meta and take them to the bottom too.

Seems like what you do recently as 'patch' is just nerfing popular skills and builds, and introducing new skills (and mechanics) that most people won't use.
