How to make orbs - PoE version

Nice thread, thought i give it a try. First i was intrigued by the level-requirements of gear the OP posted, so i crafted some low-level stuff on my own. This is what i ended up with - all usable at level 2



That left me with quite some health and 43%IIQ / 7%IIR. At level 5 i equipped



in conjunction with a shortbow - any shortbow - damage was quite impressive at about 45 dps. One-shotting everything.

At level 8 you're all set with this



and after that i never had to change gear again up to Mervail - not even for resists. Final stats at the end of act 1:

HP 394
IIQ 43
IIR 25
EVA% 42
PDR% 2
Fire-Res 30%
Cold-Res 0%
Ligh-Res 0%
DPS 107.2 PA

Thats about 1.75 chaos in half an hours work (Race speed of pros)
Also your gear and build was suboptimal imo

And yet, in 4 hours farming docks (89Q, 202R), I just got 4 Regret Orbs, 3 Unique (), , 2 Chaos Vendor deals, 14 Jeweler's (2 x 6S), ~50 Alteration, and this fantastic dagger .

And then, some days, I get away with barely more than a 2-3 Chaos for all that time. You win some, and you lose some.

indeed - shit, i feed dem trolls

tried witch with the same gear...didn't work out too well - missing the dps from the quiver, frostnova couldn't cut it...

in the inventory:



at least i can go grab a beer and go fish - yeah!

ps: used around 7-10 alts for gamblin' - didn't work out

Would the following be considered comparable for 1hr of XP solo at higher level in Docks with just:

23% Quantity
28% Quality

The drops for that random hour where:


Many rares but none worth keeping for sale and the jewelry will decide later what to do with them.

Only real change to regular gear was to wear these

Excellent post! Even though I knew all of this, It's a good read for newer players!

I'll post the data for one run from forest to fellshrine later this afternoon for completion's sake, even though I don't do that nowadays.

current progress in act 2:

found 1 fusing in the forest en route to the town.
found 2 alchemy orbs clearing old fields.

Now about to enter the cave, this is not counting other drops I got.
