witch teleport!

I know there is lightning warp but as that skill currently stands its not very effect for quickly moving around. I think witch should have a faster TP ability much like the one sorceresses had in D2. I realize there isnt alot of land to cover at the moment but in the future when more acts are added it may be useful!
Teleport in a game like this is way too powerful and would become mandatory on nearly every character just like in D2 or need a long CD and become useless.

i dont really see how it makes anything too powerful, its strictly for movement, take away the damage effect and make it faster. not every class had it in D2 and all it really opens up is the ability to rush players or to farm slightly easier.

In D2 nearly every build used enigma for teleport. Why? Because in an aRPG like this movement is the most powerful stat in the game, when used right you can literally become untouchable. Now how are you going to balance monsters to fight people that are teleporting without making them completely shit on anyone that isn't teleporting?

Simple fix for the balance problem is to put some sort of stacking debuff the more you use it. Make the debuff last like 5 seconds or even 3 and stack up to 20 times and once you hit 20 its on you for 1 min. Leading up to 20% increased damage taken or something.

Edit: I would not mind a cooldown either. Just a faster "place to place" spell, that does not feel like your lagging.

This is precisely why PoE doesn't have a teleport skill.

What if you made it so you could not teleport through walls, like how lightning warp currently works. I guess my question is, why does the slow animation stop people from rushing content. It takes 5 seconds but eventually i jump the river in Act 2.

How powerful such abilities are, we all (if participating) could see with flicker strike in the cut throat pvp tests - even for human players its nearly impossible to get hits on such chars: before you can attack, they had hit you before or are just away...

You can speed up Lightning Warp by getting more movespeed. It's capped at your normal movespeed so that you can't use it to trivialize normal areas and so that PvP becomes a possibility.
I think we need to throughly test these skills before we jump to conclusions about how powerful any specific skill is.

Back to the original thread. We have teleport, its called lightning warp.
