I tried doing the removal of the files you said and it didn't change anything. After that I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall but it didn't change anything. Please assist. |

Same issue.
PoE1. PoE(1) is unable to semmlessly ugrade. PoE downloads gigabytes from net, installs and configures a very complex sofware, and at the same time it fails to do the (one of) simplest thing: (on Windows11, but maybe other Win too) it cannot rename a file (rename PathOfExile.tmp to PathOfExile.exe). (Because of.. handling some write protection attributes on file or folder(?)) (Who makes it write-protected? Despite the readonly directory, manually the user can rename that file. The user can rename the file, the setup program cannot?..) I am very surprised (and disappointed). What should/can I (one user) do? (For example, complete purge and reinstall of PoE? May it help? Is it guaranteed to retain (not delete) all my characters and settings? [All setting, except the readonly-attribute-handling behaviour.]) Last edited by Jhssutrx#1064 on Jun 10, 2025, 5:16:25 PM
