Looking at the philosophy of item-find mods, we realised that they are something that characters should be able to swap into when the want (so that they can make decisions about whether they're in playing gear or farming gear), rather than being a permanent part of your character's passive build.

As I explained in the initial post, it'll be up sometime during tomorrow's New Zealand workday. This is approximately 16-24 hours from now. We'll post more info when we know.

Sigh... More bad news. At least for me. I guess you won't be targeting casual players at all.

I would really like to see a way to break down the higher tier orbs. Typing "Selling exalted for 6 GCP" and waiting is a PITA, I would much rather vendor them for 4-5 GCP and not waste time dealing with people.

Also, why did you chose to wipe so close to D3 release?

really like this. even though i've admittedly grabbed all 6 in my current (soon to be lagacy) build. it does mean the char can be more versatile as i had a long way to go to get to these passive skills, and in hindsight i probably shouldnt have.

looking forward to seeing the range of the prefix mods for these Quantity/Rarity additions.

It's a legacy migration, not a wipe - all the items and characters still exist afterwards if you want to use them in the other economy.

We chose to do it now because we need clean feedback on the massive game-changing differences in this patch. If we just deployed as-is with no migration, everyone would rush to chaos and whine about how their characters don't work anymore. That wastes the time of the players and the developers.

Open Beta is coming soon so we have to iterate as much as we can before the final wipe.

technically its a move to lagacy rather than a wipe, but i cant imagine they had any real option. i would say the choices were:

no wipe, and no patch anytime soon

migration, and new patch and goodies ready for another public access weekend (right before D3's launch which is almost perfect timing.)


im glad they went with the second option, and im going to have fun spending all the crap ive been collecting in default league up till now.
