So I dusted off Wolcen
" Yeah, best melee in any ARPG, ever. By a long shot. And I ate a lot of shit just to enjoy it -- something conditioned into me over decades of PC gaming, I figure. As a melee-focused, style over substance affair, it was definitely my sort of ARPG, but there's overwhelming proof that I'm very much in the minority there. I'd probably still be playing it were it not for my return to GW2 as my every day 3+ hours game. I'm always a *little* sad when I see people having trouble getting Wolcen to run because under the deluge of crap there's a decent ARPG experience for at least a handful of hours unlike any other I've seen: a structured story with a player character with pre-existing relationships and genuine stakes. And the post-game random dungeon mode with light rogue-like elements that you can play from level 1 was exactly what I wanted from PoE from the start. I still have a roster of like...70 characters, last I checked. Offline mode was also a huge draw for me. But at this point even I was astounded when I saw a recent balance patch land (like in the past month I think). It's like, guys, you seem to be the only people not to realise this game is dead to the rest of the world. It 'works' for those who want it to work. Maybe just leave it at that. Edit: HOLY SHIT, there's a huge named patch *today*? What are these people doing? https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. i just got it recently from a sale and gotta say it was a solid experience (playing singleplayer). combat feels very nice, has some interesting enough mechanics, never had any bugs/crashes.
Its not a game to sink hundres or even thousands of hours into for sure but its fun enough to bridge the time between poe leagues | |
Gosh that Annihilation graphical rework looks sus as hell. Shaper Scorching Ray much?
