I see what GGG has done here.

I'll see how it goes next league but i'm quite curious about the intent of GGG.
The game is really hard to go in for newcomers. Many of my friends can't stand the lack of story (which is in fact, the way the story is told is so long and annoying that no one read it anymore, the text scrolling is horrible ands it's sad since POE history could be literraly one of the best aspec of the game anyway), the number of things to know during campaign and the wtf when they go to maps and realize there is more. It's a lot and requires a lot, a lot of investment at the moment (Ultimatum for example), if you want to go into POE till the end (let's say Maven is the "end") you have to spend a big big big part of your time on POE. And many don't, just give up cause fuck it spending 3 month of their time just to learn the basics. And now Act1 is harder while still not interesting story wise, the game is harder, all is nerfed except ultra-duper endgame builds that some people will complete under a week ? (Looking at you headhunter, ED, awakened gems, Maven craft, trigger skills, etc...) If you want to make the game harder why not make it harder where it counts for the people who want difficulty (e.g. late game) ? And please for gods sake (for all of those in POE), get rid of this stupid mechanics which will also be the only one killing us whether or not we are nerfed : ONE SHOTS. This will happen even more often now that our survavibility is in the trash and we will get trashed by ONE SHOTS even more... And this really feels like shit !!! I will probably enjoy the game, but I already know that none of my friends will be interested in this expansion... TLDR: NERF HEADHUNTER and ED, STOP THE ONE SHOTS IS THE ONLY WAY TO KILL YOU AND MAKE STORY GREAT GAIN ! |

it gets worse every league. I would like to know who is the mastermind of this changes, because it feels like you guys want the game to feel cluncky as fuck.
playstile and character progression are everything in poe, if people doesn't haven fun and feel like the game is a homework, they will quit, is that simple. |

It is legitimately sad that this WAS the one game that I consistently enjoyed playing for several years. Ritual was the best patch you ever had. I was so excited for the new league and what would come next, but I would play it again, nothing changed, over this new content EVERY TIME. In the span of two patches, you have changed the game so much for the worse that I am no longer interested in playing it. I hope you find your target market, but I have no idea who it actually is. I am clearly not a part of it.

I won`t support this game anymore. 20 Pages of patch notes (called "content update" :-))-you guys really think the "casual player" with a job etc. will invest hours of time reading this? I usually will spend some time in this ARPG (!) having fun=>killing mobs&getting loot&develop my character...thats all. Mana cost nerfs are awful. Already struggle for mana on attack builds? not it will be worse

After the balance manifesto I for once thought you had nerfs done right, you said it was mainly support gems being hit, what you didnt say was remove all attack and cast speed to make skills feel clunky to use. You also didn't mention the fact that you decided to do so many small but impactful nerfs such as no more crit strike chance on consecrated ground etc.
I have never seen an item be so brutally murdered as controlled destruction was in any game at any point. I thought it was gonna land at 20% less crit chance which already at that point with diamond flask nerfs would've made it a no-go for anyone but Assassin but hell you decided to completly murder it for any crit build. Empower level 4 is now mandatory in every single spellcaster build and with the removal of level 2-4 drops from content you just ensured its gonna cost 10ex+. And holy do you hate brands, outside of archmage stormbrand, stormbrand felt horrible this league and now you remove all cast speed from clusters, much less attachment range, less deactive time etc. Armageddon brand was already dumpster outside of SSF ignite builds. Penance Brand was alright but with all the cast speed nerfs it is probably way less playable now. Wintertide brand still doesn't really exist and I didn't see any massive buffs there either. Not even Aisling change you managed to do a homerun on. Very good that you now can block with crafted modifiers, but horrible decision to make it remove 1 mod. because now that means you can only use it with meta mod crafting and therefore you just in reality removed our ability to block modifiers with crafted mods and also that once we remove the desired mod that we harvest reforged on for the 4th time straight I will simply just quit the league, because guess what? with all the speed and damage nerfs a new full Catarina cycle will take ages to run so even buying an Aisling bench will be super expensive now and it already was 5ex this league. Also totally super excited to grind out the 32 watchstones again but this time it takes even more hours, that initial grind is so boring, grindy stuff is supposed to be in the endgame section of the game tbh. This initial grind alone is a big reason why I usually never join events or fun private leagues during the actual league because base PoE is so grindheavy (which I'm fine with in the endgame) but spending like 5-6hours on a leaguestart campaign and then another bunch of hours on collecting watchstones is simply not fun at all. I wanted nerfs and a more challenging game but damn did you nerf so many of the wrong things, support gem nerf overall completly fine only controlled destruction and awakened hextouch that you completly killed, but all of these small nerfs and things that remove quality of life and smoothness from builds like attack and cast speed? You missed the very important aspect of improving loot drops, the game is currently designed around the zoomzoom meta for loottables. To do crafting we need several hundreds potentially thousands of various orbs to roll modifiers good luck getting that now. Or that we need lots of beasts etc all type of items that today currently depend on your ability to speed through maps. Or if you aren't willing to improve the loot you could at least remove the lower item tier mods, like why can an ilvl 85 body armour roll t13 life anyway. I think we will see the most meta heavy league of all time in just a short time span and I will probably not do 40 challenges this league for the first time since metamorph because damn did you remove way to much smoothness from the game with this patch and doing all 40 challenges is already a very time consuming grind. I really hope you adjust challenge goals to match the new movement speed reduction or should I say destruction. |

Man, you guys managed to kill all three of the starter builds I was looking at. Guess I'll be skipping this one XD. Shame, I was looking for a break from TBC for a while.
