I run a rather similar build and I was wondering how people are dealing with the league mechanic. Apparently RF isn't as bad as a melee build for it but the chore strength of the build (to just tank things) won't work.
Since I generally enjoy the build I do not want to reroll. I have beaten the Sanctum once with T1-5 maps (just kiting with RF, using FT only for bosses) but in red maps I just can't kill fast enough. Apparently ramping up damage will help but every improvement from now on will be rather costly. My best idea is to use a second gear set / tree for the sanctum since we do not really need our defensive mechanics there. - Switch RF to chest or use a helmet with more damage/burning damage because conc effect really makes kiting a lot harder in sanctum (maybe even consider awakened increased area of effect) - Respec tree a bit (drop endu charges and max res for more damage) - Drop other gear (in my case use a chest that gives more life for flat damage to RF) - Was also thinking of ways to improve my mine throwing speed, that would help a great deal too to be able to use FT more effectively What are your esperiences.
I'm not an incredibly experienced player, but from what I'm hearing and seeing of people trying to minmax Sanctum, minions and totems are the way to go, and absolutely not RF Jugg or any melee.
Like you said, defenses aren't really a problem since nothing in Sanctum seems to hit especially hard, it seems to strongly favour off-screen builds that don't even engage with line of sight so you don't even need to risk your resolve meter at all, and if you really wanted to use fire trap to attack from range, there's a point imo where like, is it even really worth half-assing it on your RF character, when you could JUST build a trapper with a real focus on blowing enemies up as fast as possible? I dunno though. Anyway, I'd appreciate some advice on my RF build. https://pobb.in/8BkHx3uWpK0l I'm following the one in the thread pretty close, however I'm playing SSF so I basically just got lucky on a Saffell's Frame, and I'm level 90 and if you check out my build here in POB you can see I have 'some' items, but I'm hitting red maps basically now and there's some growing pains - I can clear them just fine, but I'm hitting what feels like a plateau in my build. I have a 6L chest (which if I get lucky I'll replace with Brass Dome) which is only a 5L right now, cuz I need to craft the right sockets, and I'm currently farming up my gems to score hopefully some level 21/20 or 20/20 Vaal RF. My problem is, I haven't started farming Elder or his minions yet which I think I need to for helmet, I killed Minotaur cuz Kirac gave me a mission, but anyway this means I'm running Vitality (20), Determination (20), Skitterbots (19/20 and soon to be 20/20). Skitterbots according to POB gives me a LOT of bonus damage (100k), but the guide suggests Purity of Elements - which without some extra reservation from say an Elder helmet or whatever, I'm not going to be able to run alongside all the rest. So I'm basically wondering if it's worth it to drop Skitterbots and like 100k damage in exchange for Purity of Elements, since that will allow me to swap out some of my resist-heavy gear for more useful stats which might in the end be better for survivability and give me more flexibility in gear, like +life or +life regen on boots, and maybe let me craft fire damage onto rings or whatever. Aside from this question, I'm also wondering too like... so my gear is 'pretty good'. But what do I work on upgrading first, and where, and how? Basically, I need a little guidance.
Hey mate, I want to be a tanky jugg, but I'm having a few issues at low lvl (just finished act 1). Do I need to use two sceptres and molten strike until I can "tank" RF? I'm probably gonna play it a lot in 2023, but for now I'm having a few mana and damage issues, unlikely other starter builds I'm used to play. It's not like I can't walk and being alive, but it's kinda low damage. Probably I'm doing something wrong.
POB from a lvl 14 marauder lol https://pastebin.com/buKhLHic |
