[3.18] OUTDATED Arakaali's Fang Necromancer

You can also use uniq ring (profane proxy if i remeber correctly), so your chilling skitterbot would curse enemies for you and the spiders :)

You can take a look on my build - this is different version from the post author, but i got few inspiration from him (like dropping Brass doom for rare chest which i used on carrion golem with slight changes to the prefixes). FOr uber bossing, i use mele phys dmg in the arakali, but only for very strong enemies like end-game content. For mapping even juicy t16 i use mele splash (cannot affort alt quality yet). Oh, and this is WITHOUT the squire, reaching 9,3mln dps (with splash it goes to 6,6mln), almost 150k EHP and 60k max hit. Add some life regen (vitality in my case), and some "on kill" and/or "on block" recovery, and you are VERY strong :)

aw multi is just lucky drop, definitly can be replaced with normal multistrike on the weapon ;) Cost of the build.. hard to tell, as 90% of my items are self-crafted, but we can say about 30-40ex? But if you would try to buy, not to craft some of my items, the price would be 3 times higher i assume.

I was using rare gloves with more spell suppres (reached 75%), mapping was fine as author mentioned (gravebinds are definitly not mandatory item for Arakali to work just fine), i was runing out of spiders sometimes but not often. BUT on bosses (maven, sirius) i felt it the hard way, if you re-spawn spiders and gain only 14-18 of them, there is no way to summon rest of them + sometimes boss mechanic smash our worms or force us to move away = we loss time = higher probabability of death ;P Gravebind are just amazing QoL if you don't need stats from rare gloves (yesterday i managed to swap my stygian for the uniq version, which skyrocks the DPS, while i lost just a bit of HP (as i'm still ress capped, phys red cap, got immunity on chill/freeze/shock etc, 47% spell supression and 38/29% block)

If you're using spell suppression; its either 100% or 0%. The reason why its so much better than block is because you can actually cap it at 100% making it consistent. If you aren't going to cap it then you are better off just using different defensive layers IMO.

Also; you are NOT phys reduction capped. Estimated physical damage reduction in your character screen is NOT real. The way armor works is you need 500% the armor value of a hit to mitigate half of it. I.e you need 50000 armor to mitigate half the damage of a 10000 phys hit. Estimated damage reduction assumes the hit will be something low like 1000.

The reason why the actual stat physical damage reduction is so strong is because it is real, unlike armor it will just reduce any physical hit by the amount you have, and they work together to make you absurdly tanky against physical hits. Combine that with spell suppression and you become nearly immortal against physical spells, add in melding for 90% all res or mageblood ele flasks and you become nearly immortal against elemental spells too.

Other than that, arakaali's fang in general can be played with pretty much any setup and I do want people to experiment with what they like and not just copy me or another person 1:1, cheers!
1) phys reduction - i have flat 16% from Endurance charges, and my armour is 46k so it is pretty strong.
2) Spell supress - i agree, that 100% is nice (had it before swap, on my carrion). But it's a nice add to all other layers.
3) Medling? You mean, that passive tree note for extra ES? Got it already.
4) 90% all res is pretty much impossible (or at least very ahrd to reach) in our case, as we are getting short on passives (due to double cluster) and short on mods (most of our items are uniqes)
5) Mageblood could help a lot, but it would literraly double the cost of whole build ;p
6) Definitly agree about build variants, currently me and 2 friends play arakali - and all of us has some differences between versions, there is a lot of space to toy/experiment with :) Just like the ways of Despair usege - ring, skitterbot, aura, selfcast etc :)

By melding I mean melding of the flesh to get 90% all res. I have tried it and it is possible by either dropping a defensive layer (energy shield or spell suppression) or dropping a lot of damage, but I feel like it stretched me too far as you said.

The PoB for the budget build has socket colors in the chest armor that don't match the build you provided in the post. What are the gems that are supposed to go in there?

I literally never look at the actual colors of the sockets in PoB and just look at the gems. The budget build was quite scuffed and I had to fit stuff where I could on the limited amount of currency I gave myself.

For the videos it was Cyclone (G) - Inspiration (R) - Desecrate (G) - Flesh Offering (B) - Cast while Channeling (B) and Hydrosphere UNLINKED (B)

I discuss selfcast vs cwc in the guide. I just decided to try it with cwc but I believe selfcast w/ despair + blasphemy or just despair selfcast feels better.

Thanks for the help. Scuffed as it is, I did an even cheaper version of your budget build and it ended up working out better for me than the Carrion Golem build I had, so it was worth the effort swapping over to this. I always loved the spiders, it's nice to have them back to survivable/killable mode again.
In your opinion, is Divergent Melee Splash is worth investing in and using if I don't bother with Hydrosphere?

yes absolutely it just makes your clear better. also I would absolutely bother with hydrosphere but if you're ok with the dps loss but 1 less button to think about pressing more power to you
Hi, I made a version similar to the budget version with slight upgrades of selfcraft items and droped gems, but my survivability is close to zero, weak regen and all dots kill me. I am stuck with no idea how to fix this.

So I just took the plunge and respecced into the high bugdet version using CwC.

Wow.

The defensive upgrade was insane, got to wave 30 in simu but it was monsters have more life and +chaos res mods and my jewels aren't good so couldn't burn kosis down but DPS upgrades will come as I make more currency.

10/10 Defenses, I cannot believe how much tankier I felt compared to the brass dome version

Thanks a bunch
THANK YOU BASED GOD
Gotta say good job on the build guide! Great attention to details.

I know you don’t recommend running spectres or other minions (and for good reason they are overall a pain) but it can still be worth to run them early on or other scenarios. So maybe adding a mention about anomalous controlled destruction could be useful? Frenzy charges + feeding frenzy can be huge on a budget.

Anyway, it’s crazy how many variants of this build there are. I’m currently running a triple offering one with Queens Hunger which I don’t really recommend but works ok on a budget and is actually pretty good for running low level delve with sentinels. Will definitely aim for your variant as a goal.
