[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
" While this build benefits less from Mageblood or Headhunter than others due to the loss of 18% int from the synth belt, Mageblood is still very viable. I've never played with Headhunter, but I believe it's suited for juiced mapping, whereas Mageblood is good in all content, so I'd have a preference for Mageblood. A juiced quicksilver flask could replace the Stampede and you could get Granite + Jade + Diamond all juiced up for a chunk of damage and defences. |

I... finally did it. I beat SSF. I killed Uber Elder and got my fourth voidstone. Screenshot for posterity :
Spoiler
Here's my PoB : https://pastebin.com/gJaFexmL. /played says about 150 hours. /kills is about 700k kills. Regularly, people will ask if this build is good. It's incredibly powerful. Due to the restrictions of SSF, I had : - No Split Personnalities; - No Clusters with CttC and Blanketed Snow (CttC alone was not worth it); - No Watcher's Eye; - No Enlighten 4/Helmet enchant for unnalocating Charisma; - No Hunter helmet; - No high-tier Eldritch mods; - Every piece of gear was crafted with "Can have up to 3 crafted modifiers", which means one less affix and one affix who goes from rolled to crafted (values are lower); - No synthesized rings or belt; - No crucible tree on staves; - Obviously no set of Forbiden jewels; - Still no Stampede. I ended up with 1323 int and 147k average hit on the boss staff, with 7.2k ES. That is super low. For comparison, Kelvynn's budget build has 230k average hit, 8.6k ES and 2k int. And top-tier builds have average hits in the millions this league. I beat Uber Elder with two portals left. This is huge. The fight was confortable. It didn't last that long. I honestly did not expect to clear it on first try. I was still farming for a Hunter exalt, which was eluding me, as my helmet was ready to be slammed. As for the SSF specific stuff, in case someone else wants to try their hands at this build :
Spoiler
- Be ready to play another build for a very long time. The Incantation is strangely rare now. It took be 50-60 hours to get my first staff. I have 150 hours on this character and I still have found only three staves, including with div cards, though I stopped farming the cards long ago. - Adjust your expectations. You're not going ot do Ubers and you're not going to progress fast. This is the nature of SSF. Aim for T3+ affixes instead of T1s. Do not rely of hard-to-get uniques if you can afford it. Get in the farming groove and you'll get what you want eventually. - You're going to be farming for things that will never drop, and you're going to have a couple lucky drops that you didn't expect. Last league I Veiled Chaos'd a +1 amulet and it randomly added +1 to all skill gems. This league I dropped an Enlighten and my first Maven run gave me Awakened Cold penetration. These drops feel incredible! Over the course of farming a lot, you'll get super lucky once or twice and it feels so much better than getting lucky in trade. - You're going to have to be creative. Very creative. I had to adjust the tree several times to squeeze out more resistances or damage, since I couldn't use clusters efficiently. I also had to use some very, very creative uniques. I used Yoke of Suffering for a while to Shock enemies. I also still use a corrupted Praxis of all things. It has +6% int from the corruption and it let me unnalocate Dreamer, which gave me back six skill points. Still, I never thought I'd use Praxis in the endgame. - Getting Astramentis through the Polymath is super worth it, but took me over 70 hours of relentlessly farming Museum. It's rare. Super rare. - I still don't have Stampede and have been fully specced into Blight since the very beginning. Make of that what you will. I got three other Blight-specific uniques, though. I might have been better off farming something else. - Kirac missions are a great source of influenced maps for bossing. - Crafting the rares was surprisingly quick. I usually do alt-spam for two mods, regal into a third one, then craft "can craft 3 modifiers" and complete the rest. Hit with Eldritch currency afterwards, which is easy to farm once you're at T14+ maps. Thanks again to Kelvynn. This build got me through Ubers for the first time in Kalandra. It got me through SSF this league. It's fun, it's confortable, it's awesome. Last edited by WinterHiko#1542 on May 16, 2023, 7:59:10 AM

Decided to give trickster version a spin
Spoiler
sorry
I stole every item from my scion icestormer from previous league, and thus my setup is not optimal --- I still have ES body, I have low level supports
Spoiler
because lvl requirement forced me to use new gems
Spoiler
because, again, level requirement

" Well, first of all, you need 20 more levels to reach 95. That's absolutely huge. Plus, your gems being underleveled is a massive difference. Level to 95 and level your gems to 20 and your dps will spike massively. You also haven't done your last lab. You're also not running Hatred, which is a massive blow to your DPS. You're running a life Flask and another flask to make it regen ES, which means you're using two flasks just to regen ES a bit faster in a pinch, instead of using an Atziri's flask to up damage and a defensive flask. Taste of Hate does basically nothing for your build. Your gloves have no eldritch implicits. Widespread destruction makes your Icestorm larger, which in turn lowers your single-target DPS. Cold-Blooded killer is literally useless (can't see what's allocated on your Cluster on the website, but neither should be). The Watcher's Eye does not help your dps and is subpar. You also made some changes to the tree, You took the righthand crit cluster for 85% crit chance and 15% crit multi instead of the leftmost one for 50% crit chance and 40 crit multi (which I can't check with your build, but it should be more damage, as on the budget build, it's 16% more vs. 12% more), or even the three on the mid-right for 65/25 (13%, plus some dex and int). Plus, you took "more stuns from crit" as a mastery instead of "crit multi for uniques". We're not stunning with this build. You also glossed over a two-points extra max power charge and another one-point, which is huge (16% more damage on the budget build). What I mean to say is : you're starting out. It's normal that your build does not work well as of now. Just persevere! And make sure any change you put to the tree is tested in PoB to make sure your damage is not lowered. You should get your damage up in no time just by leveling and making a couple of changes. |

So I'm kind of stuck on int% rings. They're pretty unaffordable right now, so I'm looking at alternative upgrade paths. I'm going to continue to farm divs to try and buy a couple of those rings, but right now I would have to liquidate pretty much everything to afford one.
https://poe.ninja/pob/dOP Is there any other recommended upgrade paths I could pursue in the meantime? |
|
" Get corrupted 6% rings, they should be cheap. |
|
" 6% int corruption Le Heup of All offers int, resistances and some damage, which is nice. Shavronne's Revelation (6% int corruption) gives a truckload of ES. Rare corrupted rings, if you can find the roll you need, will offer the highest amount of int. Last edited by WinterHiko#1542 on May 17, 2023, 7:05:21 AM
