[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything

Is this a good build to run as league start in the necro Settlers that gonna launch in less than 1 hour?

I played frostbolt nova on hiero and got really tired of it, altough its strong.

Does this one run as a good league starter?

The answer REALLY depends on your personal play style and league goals.

Leveling with Icestorm is super easy. But it's not the fastest way to move forward, there are much faster builds. It uses cheap leveling uniques. But they don't become widely available until a few hours after the league start.

If you want to race through the Acts and into the maps as soon as the servers unlock then this is not something this build can do. But if you are in no hurry, or starting late, then sure enough, this build is a cheap and easy way to cakewalk through the storyline and start mapping. It doesn't require any expensive gear or 6L items even for the endgame content.

DAmn, somehow I missed this.

I already started with it anyway, thanks ^^

Just having a hard time running merc lab. I'm getting one shot on last Izaro (not even sure if I'm being one shot, I just die), not sure if lab of the day mechanic or what. Having 3k ES with Disc (all resists over 80%+ with cold at like 120%) almost 1k int, using the suggested uniques and still struggling a lot. Guide says to run merc lab before killing Kitava and I feel like I can't do either of those things.

Not running lab before Kitava is not that huge thing. It is because after completing act10 you get your resistances lowered, so it might be little easier if you are not good with resistances.

Gear wise it is also in kinda bad spot. Leveling gear is running out of juice. If you have currency, try to upgrade some gear (chest) for what you would be using for early leveling. Try to blink away form big hits, kill all the adds in first and second fight to make it little bit easier.

Edit: Lab layout is same for every league, right? The 2H mace hits hard. You definitely want to try to dodge his attacks. Or wait for tomorrow.

Oh, I keep moving around, changing weaps and shit to kill Izaro. It's just sometimes I die out of nowhere. I think its some sort of DOT he's using on me or something, idk. I'll try again once it changes layout to see if it fixes.

I didn't expect to have to change gear so soon tbh. I might buy a chest piece to try again too.

Thanks anyway. Hopefully it fixes my problems, otherwise I might just change gems and go for a different build :(

Edit: nvm, bought a chest piece and it basically fixed the problem haha.

Hi Guys,

I've had great fun with this build in several leagues, but always as a second char (as soon as a Whispering Ice drops i get the crave).

I am toying with the idea of doing a SSF to see how far i can get in Necro Settlers, but i am unsure what skill setup would be powerful enough to farm up my first ice-stick to get spinning.

Bonus points if i don't have to respec the tree much.

I know it's a mouthful for a noob (less than 6k hours in POE) who has always followed guides, but the meta starters are so incredibly boring to me, so i kinda want the torture of starting all fresh by myself.

BTW thanks for this awesome build guide, and all the helpful players in the comments!

Edit: Nevermind - from what i can see the Sepulcer map is lvl 83, and i won't play something else for an eternity to get the build online!

I would say you'd spend a LOT of time and resources to play this SSF.

Not because it is expensive itself, but without the Staff, there is no build, essencially. And the tree lacks a lot of stuff that most builds would require, like ES increase/resists/damage bonus/etc.

Is it doable in ssf? Sure, but there is way better options to go SSF.
So do you think whispering ice build gona be in poe2?)
why not? xD

We'll find out when the download is parsed, probably around Dec. 5.

I have a vague recollection of one of the game designers saying they'd keep it in, but maybe that was just wishful thinking.
