It is noticeable when whole pack goes poof at the same time. Weather it is actually helpful or just placebo effect, I cant really tell. But I like to see it.

I think Kelvynn is against this small chance to blow them up as it practically only kills that pack, it doesn´t really spread to everything else around them. I remember Profane Bloom blowing up everything around you (maybe not rares) that were within Blasphemy range. And it doesn't help against pinnacle bosses.

I would say using it is much about trading offensive power to QoL.

I'm going to try having two of them to see if the explosion chance is additive...
I doubt they are. Wording that explicit (“you have X”, or “your X is Y”) never stacks or is modifiable.
Looks like with the new patch there's now a Foulborn variant for Whispering ice that (most likely) replaces the 1% damage mod per 20 intelligence with 1% increased area per 20 intelligence.
useless foulborn version )

LOL there are a lot of them on trade already: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Keepers/WvQ5XEEvum .

And prices of ancient wombgifts have crashed from 15c each to 1 alch. I'm so glad I sold my stock of ~30 of them two days ago.

Kinda surprised they crashed, honestly. They added a bunch more junk, but they also added a Mageblood variant that is effectively identical to a regular one. Although, now that you can get Graftblood from the Hivebrain Gland boss fight, it seems those have gone from 1c to borderline ridiculous.

People finally realized that the currency tree was pure bait. So maybe the cost of focusing on Ancients has just shifted from the Wombgift itself to the new Graftblood source.

Bruh

I mean I could see maybe trying to use something like that for clear and swapping to the original for more damage for anything that doesn't die but... that seems bad.

And this appears to be the only Foulborn variant, no other options.

You lose the mod "1% Inc Spell Damage per 10 Int". This will lower your overall damage by 25-30% (depending on your gear). The more geared you are the more damage from other sources you have. But even with 3k Int and almost full build I still lose 26% according to PoB.

You gain the mod "1% Inc Area of Effect per 20 Int". Note the outright disparity 10 vs 20 Int. Also note that the area of a circle A = Pi * Radius^2. This is why investing in Inc AoE nodes causes severely diminishing returns. With 3k Int I get only 58% increased radius of my AoE. And that's only good for mapping. For single target Inc AoE is completely bad as it spreads the icicles around and some of them miss standard size bosses.

So, you may increase the radius of the AoE by ~50% at the price of ~30% damage. Sounds like a terrible bargain even for map clearing. Whoever made this item has never played an Icestorm build and has no idea what they are doing.

PASS.

I think the price crashed because you can no longer turn in 3 foulborns to get a new one.

Also, the Hivebrain Glands are 4c each (as I type); why is that ridiculous?
Hivebrain Glands shot way up when the patch preview mentioned that the fight would now grant Graftblood, and stayed up there for a while after the patch went live. Guess they’ve come back down now that enough people have learned that they only give like 2k Graftblood.

Not sure how the 3:1 being disabled would affect Ancient prices. You could only 3:1 ones with the same Foulborn mod, and you always got back one with that same mod. So you couldn’t, for example, fish for the 20 Div explodey Witchbane by vendoring the 3c curse duration one. Were there any Foulborn uniques that “rerolling” the same Foulborn mod for a different value via 3:1 was profitable?
