Content Update 3.23.0 -- Path of Exile: Affliction

Why can't we keep alternate quality gems in Standard ? They are already there and needed for certain specific builds...

I get the point of the changes for the future of the game but straight up removing existing items for people who spent time and currency in Standard that seems rude really.

What else are we going to lose with the coming patches ? Flasks ? Jewels ?

I am having a good time overall with the game but it sure begs the question of how much longer should I invest my time if the rewards I get are going to get wiped out in the near future.

I really hope that Frostbolt/Ice Nova and Power Siphon/Barrage Support players will get an transmuted version of the respective skills. I also cried when I saw the hilarious nerf to Freezing Pulse.

Overall I'm happy. 40 % more Crackling Lance damage, let's go.

Quality now provides 0-15% reduced Flask Charges used, instead of 0-10% increased Area of Effect.


Sorry GGG but this change alone shows how disconnected you are from your own game.

3.21 changes made it impossible to play hit-based EC with the sapphire/topaz flasks, because you have to scale additional projectiles to have a meaningful amount of damage, but the flask charges are not sustainable at all during boss fights, regardless of the build, even with the helmet enchant and a belt that reduces flask charges used. For this exact reason, there's not a single EC player on poe.ninja. Currently the only way to play EC is ignite, but that build has even more issues than the hit-based one.

So instead, people have created EC builds that don't rely on sapphire/topaz flasks, scaling additional projectiles and aoe to get maximum overlaps, using supports such as divergent chance to bleed and anomalous cast on critical strike in dialla's.

Literally nobody playing EC ever used the reduced charges used helmet enchant, and the base quality was bis for the build because you need a specific amount of increased aoe to get at least 9 overlapping projectiles on single target.

Now the base quality is gone and we don't have enough aoe, alternate qualities for the support gems are gone, and the non-flask EC is basically dead.

This skill was already weak before 3.21, and it got randomly nerfed out of nowhere along with poisonous concoction, to an extent where it's barely usable, now you're nerfing it yet again, although there's not a single player using it on poe.ninja

so srs minion instability lost a bunch of damage?

Are all enchantments gone or just helmet enchantments?

Only helmet enchantments are called out in the patch notes.

Please clarify.

In the Q&A it sounded like glove and boot enchants are gone as well (that means all Lab enchants), but I'd also like a clarification.

Correct, i saw the Q&A also. But the Patch notes are very silent about those changes.

Hope we can get an answer to that.
