great insights there! i am still unsure how you even do any league mechanic that has a timer component with regular zombies though.
as you can see, i got lucky and got my hands on a geofri's, so i was able to try out a potentially very fast clearing alternative minion build that is still very tanky and even then i started to struggle with some enemy groups that just mow through me and my minions.
i couldn't imagine putting a dent into those enemy groups with phantoms and zombies (slamming ones would disintegrate even faster as you said).

might just be that with the recent changes the ssf functionality of the build really took a hit and it needs the investability of trading or someone with skills in crafting

edit: just saw you mentioning that you block any timed content as much as possible, that explains how it is not an issue :D
Awesome. I'm glad it helped a bit.

SSF hasn't really changed. Each new league provides new and unique ways to get gear. Crafting in Kingsmarch is quite strong as well, for some builds. The thing is, the game isn't built around SSF. It's designed around trade. SSF is just a thing that people like to do (for whatever their reasons are). So, knowing how to craft certain gear and where to find it just comes with experience that some are willing to put in (while most don't have the time). So, I design my builds to avoid the handcuffs of "needing" specific gear; to me, that's a huge part of enjoying the game; the possibility that one of the billion crappy drops in the game could actually be an improvement for me.

There's nothing wrong with improving your build through trade. Nothing at all. The items there came from someone's "solo" experience. Trade is just a "speedy" version of SSF, IMO. I play slowly and whenever I have free time. I don't have the time to create epic gear.

The sucky thing about Zombies is that they are quite weak and need more investment than other minions to deal adequate damage. So I think that if you find a few items that increase minion damage and minion gem levels, you'll find a huge difference. I was taking my zombie build through a T17 the other day and also wished I had an amulet and weapon that had more "umph" to it. I did the map, but it took longer than I wished. But, my weapon was garbage and my amulet basic. My rings weren't Bone Rings...stuff like that. So there was lots of room for improvement.

Does that help at all?

(And yes. Timed content sucks in every single game on Earth. haha. So it's true, I don't plan my builds around them.)

I've gotten to my highest level thus far with this build and I'm enjoying it...but...the lack of a movement skill is making the traps and devices in the labyrinths challenging for me. Annoying, even.
Great job on your progress, Cthul!

Why not add an Unset Ring and throw a movement skill in there?

I'm a newbie - so have mercy :) - loosely following the RF build, and I really like it's spirit and general performance so far (lvl 66, still in the campaign), but have a question - is the Autoexortion still viable here, especially with Enduring Cry? As gems descriptions' suggest it won't do anything.

If I'm right, what's the best way of replacing it without losing too much of the leisure one-button gameplay? I'm personally considering just leaving Enduring Cry on manual for bosses, though I'm quite at a loss what could I add to the mix.

Do you have any more suggestions/obvious flaws with my chieftain? E.g. is there anything I could put in the free slot of my Automation setup? Playing softcore SSF character, with no min-maxing attitude. Thanks in advance.
Loth! Thank you! I'm sorry I didn't catch it!

So, I'm sure (I hope) that the PoEPlanner link would have Enduring Cry as a manual button. It was my primary way to share my builds, but it went down in flames this league. When I posted my backup Pobb, I checked to make sure it was just as up-to-date as the PoEPlanner link, and thought it was, but I obviously missed that. So I'm really sorry.

You're right. Autoexertion should not be in the build. Keep it as a manual button for whenever you like. I normally just hold down a warcry while playing and don't officially count that as my "official button press". Those Endurance Charges are just too hot. In fact, Automation is supposed to be linked to Steelskin and Whithering Step.

You know what? I'll update the RF build with a new Pobb tonight. I'll go through and double-check a few things. I may even swap Purity of Elements with Tempest Shield and Arctic Armour as I'm thinking of swapping Deep Breaths with Sanctuary (on the tree). Those changes coupled-together may be better. I'll post a new Pobb for you tonight after dinner.

Sorry. I didn't mean to give you a lazy Pobb.

I had one, but I think Automation jacks up the movement skill.

Loth! I've updated the post with an updated RF build. I made more changes than I expected, but I really like them. The decisions were easy to make. I hope you like them. Here's the new link: https://pobb.in/odkp-c13IFBF.

Thank you very much for reply and updated Pobb (PoePlanner link does not agree with my browser, so I could not use it). I've understood correctly the Automation link. Funny thing, the new skill tree is actually far more similar to what I did end up with than the original one, I'll sit down and assimilate the differences (and correct my build if and when necessary) when I have some free time - meaning not today :).

A question about ascendancy: I went for Hinekora rather than Sione and I admit I really like seeing things go boom, but I've just started mapping and frankly my character is quite squishy now, so strongly considering dropping it for Sione. Do you think it would be viable not to take Valako in order to keep/regain Hinekora, as of now my elemental resistances - thanks to Tasalio and 200+ fire resist - are maxed anyway?

Yes, it appears Withering Step shares cooldown with other movement skills. I just tend to facetank traps as well, but if needed the gem can be unsocketed and an unset ring with something like Frostblink used instead.

My pleasure! And an awesome job with your changes. It's cool that many of them coincide with what I think would work best going forward. Hopefully, the build keeps working well for you.

Regarding the ascendancies, Sione is the weakest link. I only like the 3 nodes (Ramako to Valako). Sione was chosen over Hinekora because it also matters in boss fights. I'm not a fan of "mapping-only" nodes. That being said, Enduring Cry is probably the weakest warcry to take advantage of limitless warcry power. So you'll be totally fine keeping Hinekora instead of Sione, IMO. But I don't think you'll gain much from any other ascendancy except for Ngamahu (and that's only helpful if you go jewel crazy).

If you're thinking of crazy changes, switching to a Jugg would definitely give a more casual, beefy, experience.

Sounds good, Stabbie! Will do!

And ya! I'm really stoked to see what the final version of Path 2 will be like. What I've played so far is leaps and bounds over Path 1.
