[3.26] Looping League Starter - Heartbound Autobomber

Awesome build by the way. Was able to progress until Progenesis surpassingly, due to extreme luck in getting expensive loot to sell.
Hello, going to level up a char to try this out. I have some questions that might be fixed by rereading. I'll try to edit after if so but on mobile so a bit clunky.

To confirm, the core of the build is self damage by the heartbound loop ring. You've determined falling zombie is the best minion skill to proc the self damage.

Then is srs only a secondary minion to help the proc consistency?
Yes

[Cwdt to proc skills that cost 100 mana] the end game guide doesnt seem to use the 5L setup with soulrend. Why do we use soulrend early vs something else like end game?
I misread, end game's Ele weakness/enfeeble are lvl 6 to get 100 mana.

Once, we get the self dmg going, our actual damage is from a 4L in Kitava Thirst. But it's actually just two 2-Links of Ice Spear and Creeping Frost.

Why these two specifically? I believe Ice Spear is aiming for 2nd phase with the crit stats to actually scale, right? What is Creeping Frost for vs another support gem for Ice Spear? Is another skill viable?
Still not too sure. Creeping Frost does help w/ proximity shields.

Is there room for the thought of a 4-5-6L CWDT set up using another skill instead of/in addition to kitava thirst? Probably casts slower but could allow more skill gem options?
Still not sure, maybe?

Any thoughts on comparison between this, HoT (merc can use squirm ring), and Abberath [t1 unique] Fire Burst? Also in a league start scenario?

First time really looking at autobombers and heartbound loop, such a neat concept. Unless RF counts as autobomber, ha.

Finally got around to leveling up and swapping at 76. Rushed it a bit as Cold Dot felt clunky in maps:

Mana regen caught be my surprise still. Needed to move some stuff around on the tree for aura reservation and mana mastery plus the early 3 sec recoup mastery. Even still, put in a clarity that I'll lvl to 20 with the rest of the gems for now.
Playing around a bit more, clarity is overkill; just needed the mana recoup mastery.

But, destroying blood aqueducts and it's pretty fun / neat.
For anyone trying this out in the future, A10's Desecrated chambers is a good place to play around with it as well. Prox shields to see that interaction and the boss at the end to get the feel for the auto-target range.

And one more thing: ShakCentral's 3.26 Cold DoT Pob: https://pobb.in/PR-vG7peN_Bv

Not quite, you can loop solely with RZoF, but it will be slower since zombies take ~.46 seconds to fall (while the cooldown of CWDT is at most .231 seconds) and since the fall time is variable and can't be altered via duration they're primarily there to align the SRS loops. I cleaned up the guide's language to hopefully be a bit clearer, but easiest way to see this is that the 27% and 9% cdr versions of this build have different numbers of SRS indicating more SRS loops simultaneously occurring, but still have pretty much the same number of zombies (you can reference the video examples here, but make sure to account for the different levels/quality on Less Duration)

Yep, exactly!

Since Kitava's Thirst triggers all socketed skills, not just one at a time, using two skills that scale similarly (both cold skills that scale off number of projectiles) is much more damage than just one (since the second is functionally a ~100% more damage support).

You could, but the damage increase will probably be pretty negligible (even high level CWDT has a less damage multiplier and trigger rate will be much lower) and the gem pressure is pretty high unfortunately.

I haven't played HoT, but Fire Burst should be good on league start. Abberath's has pretty much always been a ~5-10c unique day 1 and worst case you can use HoT as the trigger for Fireburst until you get Abberath's.

POB looks good for the most part, getting Less Duration to level 15 should help and lets you almost double the trigger rate!

Thanks for the updated leveling POB! I'll update the guide!
