What makes you rage quit?

I have rage quit on occasion after losing an instance to server instability. Running 24 maps to get an invitation only to lose it to connection issues is just so gut wrenching. Same for a heavily invested into map.

some of the best defenses still lose to shitty lagspikes.

Server latency.
I live next door to the Frankfurt server and have a fantastically fast and stable fibre optics connection. The intermittent lag is still hideous when it occurs.
Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion
Losing exp on death, or losing an entire map/invitation because of server disconnects.(or the classic faulty instance with 200 ms spikes but its magically back to 40 ms in hideout)
To me it's 2 things:
1°) Having the impression the game is being unfair (aka random one-shots with no warning nor explanation, or being snipped by AoE/ shots from outside the screen, or when there is so much on screen that you litterally cannot see telegraphs)
2°) Forced fights I have to do right now that feel like the game wants to purposefully waste my time
(yes it's Valerius. Ransom is more than what it costs me to gather a crew, shipment is lost if you don't fight him anyway, but said fight is such a drab. The fight is not hard but it's just SO BORING. It takes forever for no reason, and to me it always end somewhere in the third part because I'm just bored out of my mind and can't concentrate or a random one shots comes out of the blue)

EDIT: I have been reading a bit of the other answers. WTF Valerius is lvl 84? Then why is it forced on people who are so far below that? With no warning?

wow who catarina'd this thread back to life

lmao.

theres a lot of things i enjoy in the current league. tho i told myself poe is not the game for me and that i should never touch it again i came back.

theres a lot to enjoy, but at the same time i get a harsh reminder of why i rage quit in the first place.

Well I was looking for reasons why Valerius had to be so tedious and internet pointed here. Figured it checked out.
socks on the kitchen table and dirty ear pods!

Admiral Valerius. I scoff at how many people call that an "easy" fight.

It's a very easy fight. slow attacks, obvious indicator, what else do you want more?

Did you not read my post? Valerius is a damage sponge. I don't want to spend an hour dodging his BS; I want to be able to conclude the fight before fatigue becomes a real issue. He's tuned for players who trade for gear that generates DPS which leaves mine in the dust. And don't tell me to "gid good;" I simply have no interest in chasing multi-divine gear. ='[.]'=

Not sure what you did play but even in SSF that guy is a joke. He is more annoying than difficult for sure. Last season I even paid the ransom for all the bosses since I could get more than 50k gold in the same time I did one of those fights due phases.

It will be funny to some, but because there is no WSAD support.
