Killed monsters respawn after checkpoint reload can cause continuous death loop.
I've run into the same thing, in particular in Freythorn, though I could see this happening elsewhere as well.
Your character gets dropped, you spawn in a crowd too big and keep getting put back down. Aside from not repopulating the map as other possible options could be to do as some other games and have a radius around the character where mobs cant spawn, and/or give the character 10-30ish seconds of phasing and invulnerability on spawn to give the player time to react. No doubt there are other solutions as well. **Asus TUF x670E Gaming, 7950x3d, AIO Corsair H150i Elite, TridentZ 192GB DDR5 6400, Sapphire 7900XTX, All Samsung 4k: 56"<->Arc2 55"<->48", NVME Sabrent Rocket 2TB, MP600 Pro 8tb, MP700 2 TB. Freythorn definitely needs adjusting. In particular, the checkpoints at the ritual sites. These are often poorly placed, with mobs spawning right on them.
Should be a simple fix, though. At whatever checkpoint the player respawns at, no mobs should respawn within X distance of it. |

Respawning mobs in a full map is fine, rerunning contact over again is not fine. It's boring and it's frustrating. Why are you doing this for the Acts? Oh wait you can't do this for the maps because you give us one portal even though multiple portals still spawn. Being overrun at a checkpoint is not fine and is frustrating.
I do like the idea of checkpoints but there are not enough of them around the zones. See comment above about re-running content over again. |

Some respawns in the Vaal factory type areas also spawn awakening statues right next to the checkpoint. A player could respawn thinking they are safe, go afk, and die to statues that wake up.

" I haven't tested it, trying not to die and all. But when you respawn or load into an area, you are invincible/mobs ignore you until you move. Didn't notice any timer on it, but in Freythorn and just watched a bunch of mobs casually walk by me after I got back in Last edited by fattucus#5866 on Jan 12, 2025, 1:44:39 PM
