YOU DIED - more details

God damn world of warcraft back in 2004 had a combat log where you can find info about damage done to you and by you.

Surely POE2 can have a similar feature...

Therefore, they said they will not put resources into developing such a system."

This answer seems very accurate so it's likely true.

I think that the last "overkill" value would be enough, I mean how much damage and the type of damage (cold, lightning or chaos).
At least the big last one.

The more statements I see like this the more I'm convinced that the POE devs focus more on thier 'vision' than on 'boring' QOL issues or even visual clarity.

Skill issue
GGG git gud...

Isn't it what the fanboys likes to say to other players? Why they can't say it to the Company that say "very hard for us to do technologically"?

Again, GGG needs to git gut because they have a skill issue.

Why does it matter? If you get one shot by a boss and he's the only thing in the room, it's not hard to deduce what killed you. On the other hand, if you are running a map and get chunked down by a random pack or are surrounded and get killed, you'll look at the "damage report" and say "Oh wow, so and so killed me" or "That's BS I have 90% all res with lightning taken as fire, how did lightning kill me?", rage, respawn/reroll and move on within 5 seconds.

It's a waste of coding and won't be as useful as you think. If your defenses are trash and you die, chances are you already know why you died (glass cannon) and what killed you (literally anything). If you die and your defenses are great, you'll probably know what killed you by just paying attention to what's on the screen. The majority of deaths we face when we've got a good character is because we got out of position and/or weren't paying attention to what kind of mob pack/packs we were engaging. If you're not paying attention in either case, then that's your problem.

I will say this again, People been asking for that for over 10 years in PoE 1, they never gave it and they never will, you know why? So you cant see the BS they used to kill you, the moment people would see they got 1 shot for 20k damage on a 3.5k life character they would flood the forums calling BS on their game balance, this way you eat it and keep quiet.

I was wishing that they would implement some kind of (optional) combat log, but I came to same conclusion, they'll never do this for this exact reason.

that would be a nice quality of life update. but on their prio list, fixing performance should be 1st
