Make PoE great again - the ONE portal has to go

Hopefully the one portal stays.

Nobody here want to remove your one precious portal, so relax. We only want GGG to make the other 5 work too...

Yea I hope that doesnt happen. One death per map/boss is good.

POE1 can be where people go if they want to do less engagement and careful gameplay with 6 portals.

But... It's better if GGG fixes other issues, before reverting back to '6 portal meta'. Eg.:

- The number of map bosses should be tripled
- Maps should be smaller and / or less of a nightmare to navigate
- Travel checkpoints in maps
- There should be less visual clutter (environment & effects)
- Ground effects & on death effects should be toned down (way too much of them)
- Base movement speed should be increased a bit (cca 15%)

There's lots of improvements GGG can do to make the experience better, without removing the one portal penalty.

I die much less in PoE 2 than I used to in PoE 1 where it doesn't matter much. And frankly I think this creates a better progression experience - not because it's punishing, but because it forces you to build & play your chars in a more balanced way.

I have a lot of the same recommendations you do ... I'd like to also see a pin on every mechanic you've discovered on the minimap -- although a checkpoint at every mechanic [Ritual, Expedition, Breech, etc.] does the same job but better.

This league has been strange. In PoE1 I blast through maps and if I die 50 times I don't care. In PoE2 I've died 5 times in maps ... 4 times it was DUMB to try running content I KNEW I shouldn't run and I'm OK with playing in a less wreckless manner.
1000% agree.

Ascendancy Trials, but especially one portal maps are way too tedious.

Game designers should never make punishing gameplay. They should make rewarding gameplay. People like souls-likes because they feel rewarded when you actually get better at them.

No one likes losing 10-15 minutes of their time, a map, and a chunk of their xp because of a lag spike or unfortunate circumstance (like getting caught in a corner with several ground effects on you). This shit happens especially in ARPG's. I've stopped playing for the day because of this.

If I wanted something like this I would've played on hardcore.

I don't care how they change it. Maybe make specific maps 1 death, or add checkpoints after so many enemies killed. Even 2 portals would be a drastic improvement.
