My feedback on the current drop rate for greater orbs and perfect jeweler orbs.

This is a curious one for me, as a player of PoE1
We used to have to spend 350ish fusings for a 5link and 1500ish for a 6link (hard averages with many many outliers).

PoE2 so far I’ve seen 120 lesser, 2 greater and no perfect (bought the ones I’ve used)
This implies (with quantum sample) drop rates of 640:60:1 which to be fair isn’t that bad compared to PoE1.
That said the question is whether this small sample is accurate and if the new tougher (allegedly) play style of PoE2 warrants better drop rates?

Isn't a 5-link craft 150 fusings and a 4-link 5? That means the ratio is 1:30:300 in PoE 1, which means in PoE 2 it's twice as unlikely if we take your numbers and approximately the same if we take mine (I found about 60 lesser and 2 greater).

However, in PoE 1 we could collect fusings and they'd simply accumulate over time or you could buy more if you were a couple hundred short. In PoE 2 it's all or nothing because the jeweller's don't come as splinters and you also can't upgrade them 1:30 or whatever.

I think they'd drop a lot more often in general.

A six link (technically 5 links but six linked sockets hence the term) was definitely 1500 (on the bench) and i had to check and 5 link was 150 so I was in error there.
That would change my maths above to (for PoE2) to 300:10:1 (lesser, greater, perfect) to match PoE1 averages (or the fixed bench crafts)
I’ve definitely not seen the 10:1 greater (only had 2 vs 120 lesser) so that needs buffing a bit and perfects from my (and most I have heard from) needs a lot of buffing.

this is typical of GGG even in POE 1.

They would rather the third party sites sell good items for IRL Currencies than to let players just progress as their character progresses.

Relying on the trade forum and 3rd party site sellers is just plain stupid.

I too was hoping poe 2 would change from that model. The evidence is clear/

Yeah, that's why I only wrote about the 5-link because you were already right with 1500 fusings for a 6-link.

No, 300:30:1.

I found my third one yesterday, so that would make it about 1:20 for me now, which would in theory be better than PoE1.
However, we both know that statistics can't be derived from 2 datapoints and it also doesn't make too much sense to compare the droprates between the two games.

What's for sure is that they need to buff the droprates. The greater JOs should be achievable as quest rewards via act 3 cruel just like the lesser JOs in act 3 normal and from then on drop more regularly.
2 Chars, level 87 & level 73. I have seen so far 0 divine orb, 0 perfect orb and as highlight so far 1 greater orb.

Only exalted were ok,so far. At least they were enough to buy me stuff on the tradesite up to that point were every upgrade starts at 1 divine orb.

Thanks for the correction (please note my sig lol)

I do kind of agree with a post before yours that x lesser should upgrade to 1 greater etc, at what ratios I don’t know though.
