Man, this is depressing. I no longer feel the need to play and grind if people can just RMT and use bots.

I have seen the market climb for divs/exs and also for gear thats becoming out of reach. For casual to even people with more time, this becomes more out of reach daily.

THIS.
IS.
10 YEARS.
OLD.
PROBLEM.

It is not a problem actually.
This is why we get so cheap orbs.

All those alteration, augmentation, alchemy, scouring, fusion, jeweler...
All are the result of AFK bot farms.

At some point, those were selling like 100 to 1 chaos.

Do you really think, that I will click my mouse 10000 times to pick up the value of 1 divine orb from the ground?

FK NO. NO WAY MAN.
This is stupid, even to think about it.

The bots are making crafting in POE 1 cheaper and accessible.

I understand what you are saying but this breaks the game in other ways too. Also, new players fall so far behind. If you have these cheap orbs, new players would pick up and can make a little profit and it would be worth clicking on these orbs then.

This game was fun for about 6 weeks but these problems are glaring with RMT/Bots being one of the biggest. we could never compete against them. Back to FPS or MOBA games where, while you do have cheating, they are quick to ban and the advantage is not so significant.
people do compete against them tho, and win i might add.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Ok but I don't want it. There's nothing wrong with making crafting more expensive as long as it's a fair game. I want fair competition not bots.
EightInchFloppyDisk is obviously one of the people running bots....
RMT and farm bots will ruin this game, and if it continues after full release, real player retention might suffer a lot.

I know I wont keep grinding for long after enjoying campaign, if lets say ~50% of players is just bots printing currency, why bother.

There is hope since bots wont buy MTX, but for now it looks very bad.

This will be the biggest issue at launch.

The game will entirely be free. So you will have tons of bot farmers that can use VPN if they ever get banned, just farming currency.

I don't see how this is any different to poe1, seems like they handle it well enough for average player to not notice, i'm confident they'll handle it as good in poe2

POE1 audience was very small, less than 50k avg per month. And most of them are now on POE2. The magnitude of the problem will be much bigger.
If they improved crafting and gear drops people wouldn't be so dependent on trading. GGG did this to themselves by trying to force everyone on the market.
Heya,

Where in ANY description of PoE/PoE2 is there the idea that you MUST spend the VAST MAJORITY of your time trading? Seriously, the ENTIRE economy is broken, and we can't just kill the stuff we're supposed to and get the items needed?

WTAF?

It's devolved into a dumpster fire, and of course GGG is LONG GONE into the sunset, 10c is probably botting/RMT'ing the backend of this, or just straight up creating than selling, does anyone actually believe anything anymore about whoever is running this crapshow?

Lies and more lies, straight up bait and switch, and you trust this all...why?
Yeah, got some axes to grind after being banned for letting my nephew play some time back, and NOW, well everyone and their brother is admitting in videos to doing the same, exploiting, etc.

WTAF?

I was willing to give this a shot, I play lots of games going back to BBS boards (before the internet, I'm 63), and this is as sad as as it comes, GGG is gone, heart and soul, and it's all a scam now.

They care for nothing BUT your money.
