I don't feel dodge roll belongs in this type of genre.
They are trying to turn this into some form of Dark Souls instead of a loot based ARPG. 99% of boss fight tutorials are just rolling around like a fiend and casting spells or putting in a melee or two before rolling some more. Some may, but I don't agree with this design. What are your opinions?

" In PoE1, you use Dash, Flame Dash, Leap Slam, Frostblink, etc, which all feel much better than PoE2's dodge roll. Something to think about. |

The same way every other ARPG avoids attacks. Through mitigation and avoidance (resist).

" Every ARPG I've ever played used useful traversal skills that actually did something. Leap, teleport, etc. And you could build on those by making leap do damage at the area of impact. Dodgeroll just seems sloppy. |

Every boss fight is designed around the dodge mechanic which sucks. Its a slow and clunky mechanic. We need other options. GGG severely limited player choice for avoiding/mitigating incoming attacks in POE2. For most builds dodge roll is your only choice. This is just poor game design.

"I disagree i like it in this game. Im also a dark souls player. I find most of the boss fights quite fun, while i use the dodge roll mechanic, and quite satisfying to use it and dodge attacks, but there some broken hit boxes, bad telegraphed attacks, too quick attacks "geonor that 1millisecond windup attack, blackjaw straight trash, monkey roll oneshot) some are very easy and some way too hard or just straight up bad. Its not necessarily dodge roll mechanic is bad, i like the feeling of the dodge roll. But theres alot of bosses where it really dosen't matter that much because the bosses are so incredibly fast. And you only get one try so its all about killing it quick. So you actually wont experience the fight. Who wants to try to learn a boss when they get punished with over 10+ things and want to kill themselves, ofcourse they will go to the top 3 most op builds in the game. |

Well, it's not going anywhere anyway.

" So if you don't play meta build, you have 0 chance to beat bosses. For example to survive Xesht's falling hand you need 5000 hp. |

Dps is the best avoidance mechanic. You kill boss in 3 seconds and avoid/skip all it's mechanics.

" This attitude would have gotten you crushed fast in Diablo 1 Hell/Hell. For Warrior 'Tele-kills' was bread and butter to keeping them viable late game. A good bow would substitute but not as strong. Sorcerer would just die without Teleport and Stone Curse because there were enemies fully immune to Fire/Lightning/Magic. Evasion methods have been in ARPGs since the beginning. Dodge was in an ARPG called Revenaunt which was released a year before Diablo 2. It also used WASD + Mouse controls. That was an ambitious game truly ahead of it's time and tech. Even had dedicated PvP arenas. They're really not breaking ground with PoE2. Least nothing my old ass hasn't seen before.
