PoE 2 has lost over 80% of its players in 3 months.

fix'd that for ya
Bunch of dramatic I always need something to bitch about nerds up in here
They don't need to engage. All games speak for themselves. This game is the best arpg out right now. If not will be the goat. PoE1 was awful but seems the intent was there. They're doing the right thing here.
I'm just waiting for the game to be substantially closer to finished before I come back. Once they figure out throttling drops so hard the market is mandatory and making zero effort to bring up low performing skills and ascendencies is going to kill the company they'll come around and make PoE 2 a good game finally.
The more More you have, the less Less matters

According to steam charts:

https://steamdb.info/app/2694490/charts/#max

Many players had high hopes for Path of Exile 2, but for many, those hopes have been shattered.

I want PoE2 to succeed, and I had hoped that GGG had learned from past mistakes. But they remain the same company, clinging to the same rigid "vision." Unfortunately, this unwillingness to adapt may ultimately be their downfall.

Rather than engaging with the community and addressing feedback, they remain silent. This lack of communication leaves players feeling ignored, frustrated and undervalued.

There will likely be temporary player surges when major patches drop, and a wave of non-paying players when the full release arrives. But at this rate, PoE2 risks becoming just another forgettable ARPG in an already crowded genre.

Unifnished game, people played through it , no seasons , unbalanced classes/spec , horrible economy , no drops without high rarity ...

Game has few more classes and even more ascendancies incoming , together with lots of other stuff.

We are only 4 months into early access .

Also , a lot of people aint playing because they dont have 30$ for EA (no matter how ''funny'' that sounds , its true)

Once game is officially released , and all classes , ascendancies , more endgame stuff , balanced this or that , is added , there's gonna be much more people.
Yes, many "new" people will test the game. Until the first problem. When they realize that the game has no support, they will soon abandon it. It's a shame. Such a cool game has been thrown to the dogs. The devs' neglect is inexcusable.
POE 2 lost me at the time I realized they are playing with us.
The 6 lives to the maps is the hugest example, but not the only one... it seems they make the game for that 10% hardcore players and don't want anyone else.

If this helps I would suggest make another league under Softcore (call it baby pacifier if you like) and there put the 6 lives, visuals for incomming attacks and death explosions.

I'd like to play the game and actually enjoy it.
