Death Penalty (I am done)
Why would you even go beyond like level 92? I think lvl 90-94 is enough for everything. And if you want to climb, omens are like 5 exalts, basically free unless you die every map.
The amount of XP i needed to get to level 95 is insane and im not doing that again. I can't even imagine what you need to do to get from 99 to 100. Every death WITH omen will probably get you one step closer to stroke. So if you try to get to leaderboard - go ahead. Otherwise, just chill. |

the problem is not the death penalty which is needed to give some sense of loss other than loosing a waystone...
The problem is the scaling of the mosters, where it gives wayyyyyyy toooo few xp and breakes the game loop of high risk high reward and everything becomes about quantity.... just like poe1.5... they should keep the campaign flow and balance.... keep everything more meaningful. |

" I'd be fine with XP penalty if they had higher map tiers. Capping monster lvl to 81 in the first place was a horrible decision and forces players who want more of a challenge to juice maps with some ridiculous modifiers on the monsters. |

Yep, exp loss is bad design. And so is losing all league mechanics and tower juice on death.

Time as a value ; experience lost is just a stolen of it.
GGG is advocating the fact that the gameplay had to be demanding and facing to that implementing old-fashioned mechanics as experience lost? A demanding gameplay should be a deep smart mechanics that stand during the league. It can be hard but all the most rewarding. This game is an early access and represent a huge place of possibilities. Why are you (GGG) self restricting yourself ? Artistic design and concepts art of the game are unleashed for sure , these are master pieces. Do the same for the gameplay design! Because with such old XP lost mechanics, at this time, this part of the game is far far behind from the excellence that it deserves. Last edited by Hexmxm#0804 on Jun 21, 2025, 6:29:58 AM

" That's only true for those players that intersect between a) being too ignorant/stubborn to realize that levels beyond 90 are almost worthless and b) too lazy/stubborn to actually put in the effort to earn those levels. EXP loss isn't the problem. Players that fall in this category are. Last edited by Skollvaldr#5851 on Jun 21, 2025, 8:22:22 AM

" I thank you for giving the above reflection your consideration. First of all I am totalizing around 1500 hours of play time in POE2. All my characters have been driven far beyond level 95 :) Regarding your vocabulary and judgement regarding to me (lazy/ stubborn), these abouts engage only you and seems to be your main concerns. I won't emit any comments on them. So just for clarification, my concerns is just sharing my gaming experience in the most respectful way for the others with other. In the case of you won't be able to be mindful of that, no need to quote me and go your way. My gameplay, my meta and my game sense belongs to me. Regarding more specificly to you : I do not need of no one to be approved or being rated. Enjoy your day. Last edited by Hexmxm#0804 on Jun 21, 2025, 10:30:19 AM

" You're free to hold that opinion but you're not free from being criticized for how unrealistic, lazy, and stubborn that attitude is. |

" Then you shouldn't care either way. If I think those last skill points matter, and you don't, then you have no dog in the fight and it affects you in no way if I get them. Yet, you still feel compelled to tell others how they should enjoy the game |

" Players with the opinion in this post are too ignorant/stubborn to realize that if they feel this way about levels beyond 90, then they have no logical reason to have such animosity towards players that think those levels aren't worthless. Yet they have some strange Karen mentality and insist on telling other people what's best for them. Reminds me of someone who never used a firearm telling me I don't need so many bullets Last edited by CovidPatientZero#4772 on Jun 21, 2025, 12:04:28 PM
