Fixing This Game's Horrid Loot Situation

" Nope, not how it works. Basically, higher tier items get a bigger budget for their rolls, meaning they are more likely to roll higher level stuff... on their initial rolls. Subsequent ones are unaffected, so an exalt spent on a non-tiered, t1, or t5 item can have the exact same bad tier mod. And there are apparently 10 tiers of loot. The standard five aren't distinguished from each other, and then 1-5 are actually 6 to 10. The entire loot system is pretty bad, designed so that 99.99% of it is worthless garbage. And it also doesn't bias itself toward what you are playing, say by weighting what drops based on your stat distribution, so of the 0.01% that isn't garbage, 99% of that isn't useful for your character. And that's why you have people wanting loot filters, because they would rather treat the symptoms of a crappy loot system that drops mostly garbage than ask the devs to fix the underlying disease... |

What crafting bro? this is just gambling where 95% of the time you lose at it.
The crafting system in this game isn’t real crafting, it’s just disguised gambling. While you can influence the randomness slightly, like using essences to narrow stat pools, the end result is still unpredictable. Crafting should involve some level of randomness, but in this system, luck outweighs strategy. Instead of feeling like a meaningful way to improve gear, it just feels like a frustrating dice roll. agree and like the idea on how to improve the loot.
sharing my experience here, as a new POE addict and console player. The whole trading is a complete red flag for me. I wont use a consoles' browser to visit the trading site. Imagine the struggle to set filters and type stuff there with a controller is giving me a headache just thinking about it. Using my laptop might help. But cmon... I am on a console for a reason. Additionally, I cant just simply buy things. I have to meet a player. Why? The whole UX could just be worse if I had to meet the trader IRL... So there I am, avoiding any trading and go with loot and crafting. Sitting on lvl 80-90 characters with way too much tier 1-5 rolls on the gear. I really look forward for either Trading getting more simple, or improving loot/crafting to a degree where you can get stuff yourself. |

POE1 had the exact same issue the entire time. I once spammed yellow-red maps for a week straight and never got a single upgrade while only wearing random trash rares I found in the campaign.
I always grew bored and quit characters around level 90 due to this. |

" Haha. I was afraid if I didn't put the /s, I'd actually have some people on the forums quoting it and agreeing with it. There's a few that might do it.. |

" Considering how many would say so much of that unironically, that was among one of the most important /s I've ever seen. |

Subject: Fix PoE 2 Loot and Group Rules NOW – Or Expect a Mass Exodus
Dear PoE 2 Development Team, I’ve spent countless hours playing your games, and my purchase history in PoE 1 is proof enough that I wasn’t here for the microtransactions or endless grind—it was the thrill of genuine loot and fair play that kept me coming back. Yet, every time I returned, I saw the same greedy players dominating the system and cashing in on third-party sites, leaving the rest of us in the dust. Let’s be blunt: the current loot system, the absurd 6-man group rules, and the so-called “quantity and quality” bonuses are complete BS. In PoE 2, if you continue down this path, you can kiss any hope of me buying a single pack goodbye. I don’t care about extra stash tabs or cosmetic microtransactions; I want a game that rewards skill and fair play—not one that forces me into groups of six with players who exploit every loophole for easy gains. Imagine this: a family of four wanting to enjoy the game together without dealing with an 18-plus guild of exploitative “pros.” Instead, they’re forced into a system where loot is inflated by team size, and solo or small-group players get shafted. This isn’t just bad design—it’s a direct assault on what made Path of Exile great in the first place. If you plan to roll out PoE 2 with PoE 1 leagues rehashed, complete with the same loot and group mechanics that favor greedy cliques, then good luck. I’m done with this system, and I’m not alone. Until you fix the loot drops, scrap the invasive 6-man rule for loot bonuses, and finally give solo and small-group players a fair shake, you’re pushing away your most dedicated fans. I urge you to seriously reconsider these changes before the full release. There’s no room for “more is better” when it’s more greed and more unfairness. Change the system, or expect the same exodus that PoE 1 suffered. Sincerely, B Brewskie
