Map Tab - Not worth the money, such bare bones

To be frank, majority already has it for free from poe1, as those paid tabs are mandatory to play our "f2p" game. Doubt enough completely new players had reached the point where they would need paid tab array to progress, and decided to pay instead of ragequitting:)

We've already seen how players cleared all content with just the basic tabs and no trading, so I don't know what you are on about with the "mandatory" part.
Sure they are a handy QoL but definitely not mandatory. lol
But sometimes even handy QoL can't fix the term of skill issue, which we've seen plenty in the past.

If by "cleared all content" you mean all uber bosses, sanctums and simulacrums, this is a rare discussion case when I can be absolutely sure those are tiny minority. And minority with years of knowledge to boot, knowing in advance what to build and how to farm, to progress without running out of space.

Which is by no means comparable with common playerbase. In short, your statement doesn't contradict mine, I agree there are select tenacious fans doing crazy stunts for memes. While you probably have all those paid tabs since forever, in your hidden profile:)

...back on topic, conversion aside, the biggest drawback of map tab is lack of sorting by affixes, so you have to type search keywords and throw out corrupted reflect damage or no regen by hand, in every subtab.

Solution: go away with ancient cellgrid storage already. Map tab should look like 1 stringlist as main storage, and button/link to options subtab or window, containing a mass of checkboxes or comboboxes, filtering what is shown in the main stringlist. Starting from map tier to specific map affixes. So you dump all maps in there and can view any kind of map in same list on demand, without clicking through 50 subtabs to remember what you got there.

In reality, most players only need to retrieve a map of needed tier and without certain build-disabling affixes, so 1 filter setting can be used for a long time without change, until player upgrades his build

OP acts really spoiled, especially after reading those suggestions, not that they are bad...but your expectation level just because you paid 10$ is...a little too high.
Tech guy
i do agree i'm not buying the tab either (i have one somewhere on some 10years old poe1 account that is loss in limbo, and it was ok but it was 10y ago lol maybe imrpove it a lil wtf).
Can't even put your tablet in it. I was expecting more and was disapointed so afaic it need improvement for me to considere buying.

The worst part is it's a barely modified port from POE1 that took 3 months to drop

It was an obvious cash grab. Wait 2 1/2 months so the majority of the player base already dropped the 300 on premium tabs while building up a frustration of manually sorting waystones.

They had it ready the entire time. They'll probably add another purchase for precursors when 2.0 is released

Yep. I've said this a couple this before too... what baffles me is that there are people who actually believe otherwise and defend GGG on this matter...

About the thread itself, map tab is the standard value you get for a ~$10 tab. The thing is that you don't need it. One tab is enough to hold your maps because you won't want maps below T15 anyway. If you're having excess maps, you're probably hoarding/running subpar maps and tablets.

The only reason I finally got one is to ctrl-click away all the low tier maps the game keeps insulting me with.

Honestly, if I could go back I'd probably not get it and just sell low level maps, because for the maps I actually want to run, I dont use the map tab. It's cumbersome to use and unintuitive.

I prefer to just stick my XIV and XV maps in my default stash tab, so I can group them and separate the bad ones for example.

Map stash tab is such an afterthought. I mean why do we even need to store that many low tier maps? Given how slow and cumbersome it is to upgrade maps are you really going to upgrade low level maps? Other than XIV to XV I don't think it's worth the effort.

Frankly for me it would have been better if it was a single container, where all your maps are mixed and you can organize however you want like a Quad Stash Tab, but let you filter the maps as well as sort them. That would have been far more usable.

Basically Map stash tab should have been a Quad Tab with extra filtering/sorting options - crucially, allowing to see all maps at once and particularly from the last two tiers.
Overall, you need to pay 30-50$ to buy all tabs you need (including money you probably paid for EA key), they will be available in both games and you get all further expansions for free. Given the quality of these games, whining about the cost just surprises me. Like, you skipped two school lunches to get these 10$ and now you are hungry and upset, or what?

15$ without auto-forge

What a joke.
