Should I start now or wait next patch?

Wondering because it seems the majority of the population has quit. How can it affect my experience in the game?

I would say it doesnt hurt to wait for 0.2 release at this point if this is your first character in PoE2.

If you are interested in trading, you might be put off with how the economy is at at the moment - that doesnt mean this will change come 0.2

Adding new support gems and new uniques has a high chance of introducing new and updated builds. Potential nerfs can happen and has a chance to make your potentially interested build into one that is not viable anymore.

People might be going back to play once patch is live too, been noticing global chat getting more and more quiet as well.

Hummm, I'm curious to hear more about how the economy is at the moment...

I would play st lesst to get to know the game. You can stsrt again in a month or so more prepsred. I played the campaign in full 5 times, and now I'm practicing a1 to 3. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't acquire some knowledge.

Don't start, just play anything that is not PoE 2 right now. With patch 0.2 it might come back alive, but right now its 50k people playing on Steam, economy is 600 ex for 1 div (which is insane) and you can't really sell anything except for prime time (and even then it's hard). And endgame quickly gets quite boring.

You will have much, much better experience with stating on fresh 0.2 than what it is now

Exactly this, like cmon I'm not gonna spend saturday evening waiting to sell my 1d crap, while I can play other games with my gf or watch movies together. Imagine being in the middle of Nosferatu and stopping it because "oh wait honey, someone just whisped me to buy my gem, give me a moment". Delusional system.

If you have never played PoE, I would play now and get a feel for the game.
Get an idea of what character and build you want to do for the next big patch and reset.

The economy is out of wack for many reasons. They will most likey adjust things going forward but it is too late to change things now.

We'll be getting an expansion level patch and somehow you are calling it nothing already? Why do you even bother sticking around?
