so from what i understand, 1ST gets a laptop, and the first for each class get an item, and everyone else killing act 3 boss gets..... nothing? can i kill act 3 boss, sure, do i have the time to race for 1st? no not a chance, so if i get nothing why bother? and im not saying participation prizes need to be handed out, im saying if you kill act 3 with in the time frame you just poped off and should get something. if you cant do it your left with nothing.

The race event wasn't for you.
It was for the streamers and no lifer diehards that can play the game like a job and to some of them, it probably is just that. It'd be real nice if instead of catering to the very top end they would be more broad and actually give a chance for everyone to be able to realistically "compete" for these.. desirable prizes but it is what it is and they've done this before many times so i don't see them changing now. |

Isn't it normal that the winner receives the prize in every race? Do all participants in an Olympic race get medals?

" Especially since everyone playing currently is a paying tester would be nice to give more the opportunity to feel like they've at least got a chance to win something. I play a ton and I know that I don't really have a chance to win. And in a game where there is a high premium on efficiently using your time to maximize odds for loot there's really not a enormous incentive to participate in something where you will spend a lot of time on not earning anything. |

but you made it to the Olympics, you should pop off for that. same as killing act 3 boss. everyone trying and failing in the timeframe is the same as everyone who didn't make the cut to go to the olympics.

The race is also an EXCELLENT way to test balance between all 6 classes for GGG and the more players participating in it, the better DATA for them.
Giving shop currency to every participant for finishing the race, even if it's just enough to buy lets say the map stash tab, would have been a smart choice for GGG instead of causing all this drama. Last edited by EvilainExile#4428 on Mar 2, 2025, 1:31:04 PM

i would also like to point out, i got over 200HR on POE2, and when i first seen this race i loved the idea! but once i seen it was only for 6 players, and nothing but 6 players, i seen no reason to bother. it was such a good thing to get me to rerun all the acts for the umteenth time, but im left disappointed and just going to play other games.
