Have you ever tried fixing your character build and developing a tiny bit of skill at the game?

There are builds that actually permit you to be this bad and still get through the campaign and mapping, like the minion infernalist. I had a really rough time on my first playthrough with the witchhunter. It's not the game's fault - its you

Yeah... even with super bad equipment you can overcome most stuff in the campaign with skill or vice versa.

I killed Jamanra on my Warrior with 100dps... took me over 15 minutes, but still deathless.

Lol, very similar to my struggle.

Knowing what I know now, i could have fixed my passive tree or taken probably 5 exalted orb to the trade site and massively reduced the amount of suffering i endured. But that is how you learn

I just straight out refused to invest anything into the Warrior, I had at this point multiple characters farming T15 maps and all items ready for the Warrior when he hits level 41 - so I just "trolled" my way through the campaign until I reached the level.
Was actually pretty funny, like a "Dark Souls" challenge where you play naked with the hobo club as a weapon.

Reminds me of Rendi's Lower the Better series, and the lvl 3 fire cape

if the point of this game to just die? why are bosses unbeatable? im dying around 40x to every single boss i encounter and each death is from a one shot. the witch im playing has basically 0 damage and 0 defense. this class doesnt even have a single defense skill.

this game is such a disappointment. as bad as diablo 4 is its still better because at least its playable.

uninstalled and downvoted on steam.

not coming back to this trash.

Unless you buy currency and buy items on market to improve your build this will generally be the case with the high-level of rng and low currency drops rate in this game.

Its elden ring boss fights unless you rmt lol

Nonsense. You can clear the entire game with all classes without trading one single time, thus RMTing is not needed.

If you need to RMT to beat the game it's not only breaking the "Terms of Service" (EULA) - it's a skill issue.

Then most people must have a skill issue. You think the loot drops are good on poe2. You think its new player friendly? My first playthrough I got to endgame having collected 3 exalts only through the entire campaign. Took hundreds of hours of rerolling to farm to make a decent character. Dont set the benchmark to experienced players. Majority of the original 600k players have never touched an arpg before.

That loot drops need improvement is not the same as "it's so bad that you need to RMT", especially not in the campaign.

Bruh... no way you only found 3 exalts in 6 Acts... you find more than that in Act 1 alone.

If you are new to ARPGs (or games in general), you need to familiarize yourself with the systems and mechanics. However, if you think RMTing is the way to go, honestly, then the game is not for you.

generally for bosses you just want to deal enough damage to get rid of them asap.

If you want to play defensive. You need at least 9k effective health. Because the one shots that bosses deal can be upto 9000dmg. And as far as I know the only viable way to get 9000 effective health is through energy shield. It will be damn hard to get 9k health through mana+life (maybe impossible). You can get 9k effective health with a combination of mana/life/es. But in general just going pure Energy shield is less costly. And evasion only works 75% of the time, so you can still be one shot 25% of the time even with acrobatics and 75% evasion (cap).

The realistic option is to just go for damage in this game until the developers actually balance it properly. If you go for dps you can clear maps quicker and kill bosses.

If you're playing hardcore then of course you have to go for defense. In which case energy shield (9k+ at least).

Seriously.

I exclusively played played HC for the last few weeks and pretty much only play campaign, mostly from dying in maps lol.

But yes the rng can be rediculous in this game. Campaign can be tough because of the loot drops. I still find it rare to get currency drops. We clearly don't all have the same luck.

It has nothing to do with luck or HC. It's literally impossible to finish the Acts with 3 exalts found.

My first char I didn't know what I was doing and had a witch with 100dps and beat jamanra after 5 1/2 hours of failing. The final fight was 11 minutes. I actually didn't play for a month after that thinking the game was too hard. Came back with a more focused mindset and it's been pretty smooth every since.

Exactly. Now you get it.

New players even in sc have no chance. I had to keep starting again to try and farm campaign. I dont even think 3 ex was the lowest. Pretty sure I had a couple playthroughs with 0 exalt dropped. Not everyone will put in the work i did and I have actually stopped playing for a week because I think I put in too much work lol.

Bruh... it's impossible to finish the 6 Acts with only 3 exalts found, especially fewer found.

The only way you could "achieve" that is - you didn't pick them up, period.

And btw., not "new players have no chance". SOME of the new players.
Ppl, new or not, who actually engage with the mechanics/systems of the game will beat the campaign and further.
The vendors alone can gear your character ready for end game.
