Punishment curse debilitate, damage reduction on the initial hit?
Does the debilitate effect applied by Punishment curse apply the 10% less damage dealt to the hit that applied debilitate?
This seems like a pretty major turning point for whether this curse is even remotely valuable to use, and it's surprising I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. In a game with so much mitigation for sustained small attacks and the largest danger being one-shots, especially with individual mobs typically having very low attack speed. Applying debilitate before the hit damage is calculated vs after is the difference between this aspect of the curse being an 11% increased player ehp vs doing pretty much nothing. I think it is after. They hit you, then become debilitated. I think it's mainly a bonus to the damage taken effect of the curse. If you are looking for something mitigating initial hit, you might need enfeeble.
You are probably right that this aspect of the build is more useful on builds taking a lot of hits, rater than protecting against being one shotted. I think the debilitation is helpful, but not a reliable defense in all cases, more of a supplement that can be nice to have. It could still save you from mobs hitting you multiple times and slows the movement speed of mobs chasing you. Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Mar 22, 2025, 3:08:10 PM
