A Simple Poll - Exp Loss on Death

+1
I honestly think you guys are exaggerating abt this topic.
Grinding from 95-96 takes 10 hours.

They also improved the amount of XP gained from maps a lot, 90% increase for mobs + like 2.6m for a fully juiced map bosses. I think it was 60% in last league

It’s also that you just need to kill normal and rare mobs, so changing up your passive tree to a more defensive one that can still one shot mobs for grinding is also possible, has anyone tried this? hmm

I honestly don’t focus on leveling ALL the time, this will get frustrating for anyone.
for example I just play and when I see like, oh i’m at 50%, lets get some ameliorations and lvl up, I can do that in a single session and not even that much of an effort lol.

I also tried to lvl up like 4 times in a row, and that’s not fun, that’s probably what a lot of people are doing, there are a lot of ways to improve your character and get stronger.

Leveling to 100 so you feel you “completed your character” is a very weird thing,
that’s a completionist/ocd like tbh haha

-1, though maybe lower the xp penalty a bit (at least from 90+). Makes gameplay and progression more engaging and meaningful for me.
Honestly thought about this another time, and I think the option should be available in SSF
but like SSF beginner and SSF hard

you obviously are unable to grasp the difference between an actual challenge and an artificial time sink.

Grinding for better gear is one thing, if I happen to die my progress to achieving the goal of finding gear isn't erased by several hours at a time.

Grinding for skill points is already a slog, the fact that I lose hours of grinding XP that I already earned, with no way to recover without several more hours, is over the top and out of balance, especially considering it's an unbalanced product in ea.

Sinking my time into a goal is fine. Having my hours of progress that I already earned completely taken from me is just ridiculous. This has been explained 1000 times in this forum and for some reason it just doesn't get through.

XP penalty can work if enemies actually scaled to the 90s or at the very least I could recover my XP on my corpse, With the current design it just doesn't

You got it backwards again. Without the penalty, it would be a pure time sink. Everyone would get to 100 eventually with enough grinding.

With the penalty, not everyone will reach 95+. As it should be.

Just stop. You're repeating the same redundant & empty arguments over and over again. I get it. You don't like it that 90-100 are prestige levels, but that's by design. End of story.
Dam this post is still going.

You see GGG you have a very passionate player base.

Crazy Exiles, i love it

With that being said Chris's Ruthless model:

Ruthless was Chris's idea with a small team, i worry that they have added mechanics directly from this in to POE 2.

Below is quick explanation of Ruthless;

Ruthless mode, also known as Hard Mode, is a character creation flag that significantly increases the difficulty and changes the playstyle of the game by opting-in to extreme item scarcity and various other changes.

Named after the historical Ruthless difficulty from Closed Beta, it employs item scarcity and shifts of relative item values to simulate the Path of Exile experience in the early days (without the desync). This mode is meant to be intentionally brutally difficult, where reaching higher acts is an achievement, and traditionally weak items are felt as valuable. For example, a player may have difficulty equipping a full set of items by Act 4. Most items found will be normal rarity, and crafting currency will be extremely rare.

General game mechanics (From POE Wiki Ruthless)
A compounding experience penalty is applied to your character from level 68.
Gems gain less experience.

If you never played ruthless you wouldnt know, level 92 in ruthless = level 100 in normal league, this is easy to access knowledge just ask the POE 1 players.

Remove the compounding exp penalty and no more issues and if players still complain then nothing will comfort them, keep the exp loss.

P.S

I am a Dog and i will just drop my load and leave on to the next post

People like you can waste their time all they want. You do not, however, have any right to waste mine or any other player's time by supporting a poorly-intended system for the sake of feeling good about being elite or having "prestige".

If this was made optional, you would still keep your enjoyment. You are still, after all, "better" than other players who do not want to suffer this idiocy, just like those who play Hardcore or SSF or Hardcore SSF.

Or does the idea of beating this game with XP loss on while others don't experience the same loss that bothersome to you? Does their suffering increase the pleasure of your "prestige"?

Do you hate the idea of everyone being at level 100 that much? Even if you will always have better gear and experience pinnacle content when most of the player base won't?

Are you someone who believes that GGG giving in to things like this is a slippery slope that ruins the game you want to keep exclusively to people like yourself?

What does that tell you about your character, eh? What does it tell the world about people who think like you?

I'm in no way elitist or a pro. I will never reach lvl 100 on a character.

But you have no ground to stand on, no valid argument. There is nothing wrong with having an optional competitive element in the game that requires investment/dedication/skill to achieve.

Yes, I do have a problem when the highest reachable level of progression is reachable by anyone easily. That would be increadibly poor game design.
