Wondering
I wonder if I've ever played a game that punished me so drastically when I died. And I wonder if I've ever played a game where you could die at such a crazy speed, always with one hit.
Is there a game on the market right now that's this soo frustrating? Last bumped on May 22, 2025, 1:37:34 AM

Ever played a game called Super Mario Bros., son?

" When did SMB ever PUNISH the player....SON? |

" You must be joking, I'm sure some players can clear the game blindfolded. You also can do the 100 life trick with a turtle. This is the kind of game people played so much we have muscle memory 30 years later and can clear the game easily. SMB is not punishing at all. |

SMB, the OG Roguelike :D
Steel Battalion. You die, your save is wiped. Same with Into the dead: Our darkest days. What punishment are you referring to? Oh, Bushido blade. Mortal Kombat 1 on the snes. Those laggy controls... Ouch. |

" poe is not punishing either if you know what you're doing. You had a point there, chief, but it flew right over your head. |

" Oh you mean like playing sofctore trade league? For sure, POE isn't punishing at all if that's your thing. I always played HC but since we get instant death from animation spawning underneath you whilst your minions are overlaying with them and you can't see it, losing your char permanently, from a league I'd say thats a little bit punishing, nothing too harsh right. But I guess you don't play a minion build in SSF whilst doing rituals and you can't see anything on the map. Is the solution to not do rituals or just gid gud on hitting the ESC key? If that's not the reason, sometimes it's due to lag or you are cornered in a Ritual and you didn't hit ESC fast enough. That ESC key mastery. I'll stick to SSF softcore. Losing XP on death to me is not a big drawback but I would say that the state of the game right now perfectly matches early access (alpha) and it's progressing but backwards. |

" If you hover over your first ritual in a map, it'll tell you what mechanic it has. Skip volatile plants if you can't dodge them for whatever reason. I'll skip the rest of your post, because you're projecting and/or ranting. |

" Yeah so your solution is to skip content. In SMB you don't have to skip content, you just can't get punished in any shape or form if you have played the game a little. In the case of POE 2 you can get punished even if you are the best player in the game, like Ben or Alkaizer that was #1 on the HC leaderboard at some point. |

Volatile plants will be getting fixed. For now you can skip them, I told you how. Now go cry on someone else's shoulder, I have no patience for it.
