LE might be a good balance for them as well.
If I want to have an aneurism and smash my fist down on my gaming desk spilling my pimp chalice I'd go play a Souls game. Remove this exp penalty shit or significantly decrease it.
The xp penalty is the worst makes playing past 90 such a demoralizing slog, especailly when stuff you can't see just pops and your ded. Great 5 hours of effort poofed...
Wait until you get to 97 it takes about 6-8hrshrs with exp gain (min 30%) boosted maps to get 5%.

But im not a meta crap LS build that screen clears though.


It will take me another 2 days to reach level 98

Total 96hrs approx with 0 deaths for 1 level.

I get level gate keeping for the weird "look at me mum" crowd, but its way to hardcore and should be kept like POE 1 not POE 1 Ruthless, or only HC mode.

But i would never do again, the others are correct at Level 93 my build was complete, at 95 it was finalised. I will in future only plan my builds around level 90-93.

If i wasnt so stubborn and conditioned from old school MMO's to reach max level on games i like, i would NEVER try to reach level 100 in POE 2.

742 hrs same character and level 97 80% 120 deaths is nuts.

Some say those last 5 levels doesn't count if you complete the build between 90-95. But the reason to reach level 100 is more than obvious. Increasing the level gap between monsters and character, you take way less damage from them while you do more significant damage to them. But the first reason is the one you hunt becouse defences all it matters in big tier saloon maps.

Is far to severe, to strip away 4 or 5 hours of effort with 1 death is just crap. at level 92 I am tired of being sent to ZERO xp in the level because I have died? In fact it is so frustrating I am done with this league. And I will be totally honest, if this punitive mechanic stays as is, I will not play after next league.

Do not try to reach level 100, you won't do it with this pace, unless you will learn something about proper map mods to gain optimal amount of exp.

Given that your 5% is around 13.5m exp, and proper map on a proper atlas node gives 1.5m - 2m on 97lvl it only should take a few maps. On my experience, you can ofcourse squeeze more. Sure you need to find those nodes first, but still. It should take way less time.

With this pace reaching 99 will take forever, reaching 100 will take an eternity. They will make POE3 earlier.
