Path of Exile 2 Is Not Path of Exile 1 — And That’s Exactly the Point

Yup, the endgame feels too wild sometimes if you stack more packs/magic monsters. Also the defensively capabilities are a little bit low atm.

There are people who like playing a nearly-pure RNG roll-based combat and loot-casino simulator, and then there are people who like something similar but with more room to master gameplay and potentially mitigate bad-rolls with the aforementioned gameplay mastery.

That means the pace has to slow down so that the gameplay can be allowed to occur and allow for human-level reaction times, not just RNG-based roll outcomes.

"The Vision" has been memed by the poe1 casino enjoyers who don't like that it's now more difficult to receive the same kind of gambling satisfaction from the combat gameplay of poe2 (either because they're bad, the casino just isn't as juicy, or both) and prefer the roll-based fully-fleshed out (and naturally faster paced) gameplay of poe1, and I agree - poe2 is not for them.

poe2 definitely has it's issues but "The Vision" is a good vision, and I like what they're cooking - it's just currently half-baked.

"The vision" is also memed by PoE 2 "meaningful combat" parrots who habitually reject everything that is not PoE 2, especially if it's PoE 1.

How can you honestly say PoE 1 is more "loot-casino", when PoE 2 relies even more on randomness for loot? And why do people mindlessly spout this whole "meaningful combat" nonsense, when PoE 2 is even easier than PoE 1?

Reading most of the replies in this post, you can really get the feeling that the PoE 2 hype has just washed in a lot of game tourists that actually hate ARPGs, failed at challenging games, and now have crowned PoE 2 their "perfect in-between game" that requires just enough skill to finally become one of those annoying "git gud" people.

At this point I just wish two things: that people with a mindset as closed off as most replies here don't ruin this potentially fantastic game, and that all the people pretending PoE 2 is the next best thing since slices bread actually stick with it when it will inevitably become more like PoE 1, because it's still GGG we're talking about.

I think his point was the combat in PoE2 is an obstacle for PoE1 players in terms of their flow of rewards. Put it simply, PoE1 doesn't really have a combat system, it's totally skippable. PoE2 is obviously not that and PoE1 players loath it for it.

People that meme about the fact this game having a vision are the same people that behaved like rabid animals when GGG attempted to do any sort of balancing in their game. Case in point, Chris left without addressing the community and without saying a single word. Can you connect the dots or do I need to spell it out for you?
I stopped playing poe2 because it literally feels everything is just the worst parts of poe1.. Over the top mob density/speed, constant need for screen sized AOE, mindless skill tree, horrible trade system, horrible crafting. (Though last one can be debated since it's been some years and maybe it changed in poe1)
