Not necessarily, I specifically mentioned novel base-types.

Those are all coming off of the back of poe1. Flails and Spears are the "most" novel base-types added so far.

We have sceptres and staves and quarterstaffs but those are more like "semi-novel" as there was a lot of ground laid for them with poe1 items as well.

Lots of variables still though, so maybe we'll see some craziness with the ones you mentioned - I just think it's more likely with things like flails/spears.
