gambling ingame destroys mood to play
" There is no other gambling mechanic ingame... maybe the only one would be ultimatum map where you can double currency if you beat the map. But its skill dependant so not really. I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.

" Ignorance is such bliss, isn't it? Does gambling need to literally say "gamble" for you to recognize it? Gambling in PoE: 1) Item drops are RNG-driven: You spend your time and energy for the CHANCE to "win" something good. Based on a probability table. What is gambling? 2) Crafting an item is dependent on RNG: you spend your currency on an item for the chance to get something good, throwing away currency after currency until you beat the odds and win. What is gambling? 3) Skill-dependent....made me laugh. Poker requires no skill? Blackjack? Other casino games? The correct answer is YES, they require skill to meet the optimal odds of winning. So yes....if you are "more skilled" in PoE, you are likely "more rewarded" by the gambles of the game. 4) Every small interaction re: defense, offense, etc.: the game LITERALLY rolls dice to determine what happens. What is gambling again? There are small PARTS of this game that aren't gambling and full skill checks but the VAST MAJORITY of the systems that make up 99% of how you interact with this game is just....gambling in various forms. And it all has a cost: whether than cost is time, currency, progress, items, etc. Your interaction with the card harvest was just one of the most overt examples, but it is absolutely no different from any other aspect that I spelled out above: pitting your luck against an RNG machine. In the digital game space, the highest value currency is your time, NOT your in-game pixels. THAT is what you go into the casino of PoE with most of the time. And that is what you LOSE if the dice come up unfavorably for too long in all aspects. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jun 25, 2025, 11:46:04 PM
