i believe Fae means that by the time you have gear rolled well enough so it includes IIR you really don't need crafting orbs to craft said gear. the keyword is need. if your build can reasonably clear content this word does not apply

considering this is not MF in d2 where lowering your 'power' would mean slower runs, in poe there is no runs, you clear content, there is no travel time to offset this time.

also in poe lowering your necessary stats (res/hp) means guaranteed death and there is no TP spam here. I never heard of people running IIR sets with low reses to farm for orbs. this would belong in campaign and no one farms zones in campaign here.

P.s. Fae- you can roll under the the sun priest beam to get close to it at which point his rotation speed is much much slower than your ms

Needing to upgrade your gear less does not mean that having less chance at currency that gives upgrades is what should happen. The opposite will always happen when you put together a great build that is hard to upgrade, you should start dropping more of everything.

The very premise itself is fundamentally flawed. Stronger characters doing juicier content should obviously farm more of everything naturally.

nothing wrong with min maxed chars getting better gains, but the OPs argument stands. currency = crafting resources, so if you farming juiced content for divs/h you don't need crafting resources. tying low tier crafting orbs to IIR is pointless

Again, what you call "low tier crafting orbs" and deem useless for late game characters, is still something that in reality every character finds useful and could use stacks of no matter what stage of the game they are in.

The entire point of progression is to make a character that can farm more efficiently so you can reasonably stack more chance to have even better items. You are never "done" with any of the currencies mentioned until you are done with playing the game.

If you are agreeing with Faye, then that is essentially what they said verbatim.

By the time you can afford to put Rarity on your gear, you don't need Runes and Exalts to craft gear.
People who need Runes and Exalts to craft basic gear will certainly not have Rarity as their priority.

Not sure why runes are mentioned because I'm fairly certain these aren't really rare. Things like exalts, regals, etc. are definitely useful at every stage though.

But the overarching point seems to be that weaker characters have less chance at item progression and that feels wrong somehow. It's exactly how it should feel or the game would be broken. It's exactly how it will be even if you take rarity completely out of the equation.

Runes are a struggle in SSF, and tied to Rarity when they shouldn't be.

Appreciate it, thank you.
