How to ascend to abyssal lich. I got the invitation, beat the boss, now what?

I have the option to ascend. I have all my ascendency points. I beat all rounds of boss. Once the dragon vessel is beat at last stage, an npc comes and you talk to that to ascend.

I somehow got it to work. The only conclusion is that the first attempts were somehow bugged out and the option to select the liches or the finger was simply not present at all even after defeating the boss. If anyone else has had this issue maybe we could compile some circumstances for a potential bug report

I guess mine bugged out then, after beating the final form all i got was a pile of loot including the maxed out ring to unveil.

To be clear, i chose to take 3 liches power then selected the option to return the finger to fight at full strength. Took a couple goes because I'm not great at GGG bullethells.

No NPC's showed up, nada.

Pretty disappointing to be honest.

It also felt a bit odd i had to town portal out after beating the boss, though maybe that was part of it bugging out (or thats normal idk).

If this "new ascendancy in temp league" continues, GGG is really taking their "screw Standard players" rule to new heights. Wonder if they believe playing league equals to buying another supporter pack. Maybe being forced into needless re-grind like that equals the opposite.

I sure hope that once the Abyssal temp leagues end, this ascendancy will become an option in Standard leagues ?

You guys are confusing Ascendency trials with Abyss league content, they are separate and are not related.

There's a status at the end of each trial, if its the first time you're doing that trial, it will give you points but only if the item you used to open the trial say so; if the text is gray, it won't give you points, if text is bronzish, you'll get points.

Sounds like you’re the confused one. This is entirely separate. There is a ‘secret’ abyssal lich ascendancy you get from the abyss mechanic.

If GGG announced decision on that option at the beginning of the league, it would work. But from history, it works the opposite way: we only learn if league mechanics will be added to core at the very last moment, possibly even after league ends.
