As a fellow mostly new player, yes.
You're not going to get close to maxed out level as a new player in the next month and a bit anyway. So just play now, get through the campaign and get going to the point you can once the league ends. In some ways it is better I think. You will mess up things or learn stuff that are obvious in hindsight as you go along, so if you start now you will have some knowledge gained for your next character, with now knowing that thing with your character you might plan to play the whole league with. And I am not saying it is a bad thing to push through a rough patch of a character because of mistakes you made but in a way it can help to have this deadline of new league as a way to say ok there is no risk to mistakes because I am only planning to play with this guy for a month and not intending for it to go all the way. So you also won't feel like you have to keep going to avoid feeling like you are giving up. |

Yeah, it’s still worth starting if you’re missing it. The market’s not as crazy as league start, but you can still trade and progress just fine. Worst case, it’s good practice and fun until the next league.

POE 1 is so crappy at this point that GGG doesnt even want it on the forums. Just look at the main menu. Everything there is about POE2 at this point.
This last league felt more like a job than a fun game. You need to go to farmville (kingsmarch) and do meaningless crap there that shouldnt even be in the game. And then you need to worry about collecting gold to make farmville work. And then you need to farm a mercenary and GUESS if what they are doing is any good because there is virtually no way in game to get feedback as to what is "right"or "wrong" with that merc and his gear. And then you have the price fixers who act like this game is their entire life. Oh and then lets not forget the obvious people who are doing RMT 5 way farming using OBVIOUS bots to do so. Ever wonder how the scammers flooding chat selling Divs are getting divs to sell?? BINGO... its the 5 way spammers who literally are paying their rent from this game and GGG could care less and does nothing to stop them from doing it. This game USED to be good.... not any more. They are trying to invent a fixed wing aircraft submarine tank that is propelled by fairy dust while completely ignoring the fact that this game doesnt need to be needlessly complicated.... IT JUST NEEDS TO BE FREAKING FUN.... WHICH IS NOT LONGER IS ... unless you enjoy doing idiotic things to get MTXs that nobody else wants to see nor cares about. |

Depends.
Do you want the "thrill" of being among the first to explore a new league's worth of content? If so, you can wait the month or so until 3.27's release. But PoE has quite a lot of content to explore already. The highlight of this league is the mercenary mechanic, where it's possible to get much better stuff than usual (most of my currency and gear came from mercs). You can also decide to hire them, which lets them fight for you and also triggers a buff to difficulty/loot due to the mercs being counted as extra players. |

i mean take it as pre szn learn the game try some stuff , craft things so you wont be confused when new league start thats what ive been doing cuz i started recently

It's almost always worth starting in a fun league like merc. Keep in mind that the league is oldish so also yellow juice is worth a lot right now so you can farm that to make some quick divines. I'm personally waiting for next league right now but I still play a tiny bit when I get ideas for league starters I want to test.

POE 1 is a stable game so if you want to play a game that's not being changed all of the sudden, then POE1 it is.
POE2 is still looking for it's identity. You won't know what's going to be removed, what's going to stay, what's going to be changed, etc. Oh and don't mind what others may think. Play what is enjoyable for YOU and not what's trending or what others find it enjoyable for them, be it that it may an old or new or an unpopular game.
