Poe2 features that should be added to poe1

* WASD for controller support. Going from poe2 to poe1 is very jarring on controller. WASD is a massive qol for controller players

Not as it is, the problem is that the two game have a fundamentally different design for how skills work and target things including the ground, and it is something that feels off in PoE2 for some stuff, and being GGG they would likely link this with new models and rigging including animations, in PoE2 this give momentum to a character and it feels wrong for those that would want to use mouse and keyboard.

The rest also no.

I don't see why wsad would require skills to have momentum. That was a design choice for poe2, not a mandatory limitation of wasd. The ability to change the direction of your character independently from the direction they are moving is all I'm asking for. I understand it's not an easy thing to implement, but I don't understand why everyone cries about adding it. You can just choose to play with the existing controls if you want too.

I know you're gonna bring up leap slam in poe2.I agree it's poorly implemented, its bad on controller too. What's stopping them from add adding alternate targeting settings for those types of skills? Imo if you are wasd, it should travel a set distance in whatever direction you're facing(no auto targeting). If you aren't, it should work like poe 1.

I get that the flame dash thing will never happen. To much of the game has been designed around it. I'm pretty sure all three of the og devs have said they wish they never had free spamable dashes in the game. It trivializes so much of the game, and limits how they can design boss fights.

I personally like pressing buttons, but there are too many keybinds for 5 flasks to feel good. The automation system they have isn't accessible untill late in the game, which kinda defeats the purpose.

I don't see why anyone would be against adding perfect basic currencies. Do you really enjoy wasting hours spam clicking thousands of currencies on half your gear?
That's the only thing I would change about crafting. What's the draw back? Endgame items are a little cheaper? So what, they were only more expensive because of a poorly designed tedious system.

What are you talking about?

Those who do it enjoy it.
Those who don't enjoy it don't do it and just buy the item they want.

What poe needs is temp leagues and more content all year around. That's what it gets too.
this is clearly rage bait

You'd be surprised how often people with poorly thought-out ideas unironically mean them.
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].
lol I thought this thread would be about adding AH to PoE1

Can't think of anything else lacking in PoE1 that's in PoE2, except graphics ;)

I can't imagine disagreeing more with points being made by OP. But they may very well believe them. General Discussion has a long and consistent history of ideas that I think are quite bad.
Thanks for all the fish!

Combat

* This might be a hot take, but I personally think dodge rolling is superior to flame dashing from level 5 onward. Dodge rolling is much more balanced then dashes. It is less powerful, more strategic, and doesn't require charges or long cooldowns. Spamming dashes should only be a late game high investment setup imo. Poe1 already has much more acess to movement speed, so it doesn't need sprint.

* Remove utility flasks and replace them with a poe 1 version of charms. Maybe the charms could be active at all times, and mageblood could be changed to something more like ingenuity. Where charms effects are doubled. Charms are a much better system, and frees up buttons for controller players

* WASD for controller support. Going from poe2 to poe1 is very jarring on controller. WASD is a massive qol for controller players

Crafting

Add the greater and perfect versions of currencies to the game. Along with fusings, jewelers, and chromatic orbs. This will cut out mass currency spamming; the biggest problem with poe1 crafting. Or you could add omens or something new that modifies the base currencies to have those boosted effects.

Console specific

Merge the servers together like they are in poe2.

The trade system worst beautifully in poe2, especially now with merchant tabs. We don't need the bespoke system poe1 has.

Conclusion

I see alot of people saying poe1 is superior to poe2. But poe2 has alot of superior systems that get overlooked. I think these changes would improve poe1, without just turning into poe2. I recognize that some players would be against the flame dash opinion, but I could live with that one staying the same.

PoE2 has superior systems over PoE1?

All I see after PoE1 was early testing for PoE2 now for years, PoE2 now actually is testing systems that can be added to PoE1. I don´t see PoE2 as anything more than that.
