        Console Trade Market Update
| Why isn't the console market finally linked to the PC market? You're losing more and more players and we console players get the impression that you're not interested in us. The main thing is that everything works on the PC. It's annoying. Please link the market otherwise you'll lose more and more players. | |
| " The current implementation can't work like that without crossplay, and PoE1 doesn't have crossplay. Nor is it likely to get it soon. Also, FWIW, not every player wants that. I *strongly* prefer that we keep our separate market. If we ever get full crosstrade in PoE1 I hope it only comes alongside the ability to have crossplatform Private Leagues. | |
| " agreed... cross market should come with crossplay. | |
| This is the worst decision ever made by GGG in my eyes. I play on xbox and on standard. The player base is practally nill om there. How are you suppsed to get what you want when the players have to be online? This is just a very poor decision. Looks like youve made me now afk on another game instead of poe!! | |
| " It's your call to play in the mode that has literally the fewest players (aside from if you were to make it permanent HC league instead of Standard)... But also, you're wrong. Once Async trade gets added with the new league, you won't just be able to *offer* on things while people are offline, you'll actually be able to conduct the transaction while people are offline. | |
| I highly welcome the new feature in general, but the total shutdown of the old system is a punch in the face of the console players, especially when you play league AND standard. And it just shows again, that you don't care at all about the console players. As of today and please correct me if I'm wrong: Only premium tabs can be converted into merchant tabs. And merchant tabs will the only option to trade after the patch, except the currency exchange market, am I right? All special tabs are becoming useless for market purposes. You still can "collect", but you won't be able to trade in bulk anymore. The feature to set a special tab to public and set a price (if it will be still applicable after patch) has no impact on the market. All currency, map, gems, flask and especially unique tabs could no longer used for selling purposes. For some players this means multiple tabs become effectless - hardcore players own more than one currency tab. And the special tabs are a premium feature we purchased in order to be able to interact with the market, not only for collection reasons. It makes a huge difference if you list 1440 maps via map tab or via merchant tab. It's one tab vs. ten tabs. And maps have the smallest size with 1x1. For uniques the impact is much higher. And sometimes you store an item for several weeks, even with the lowest price - since the player base is so small. For currency exchange we have a workaround with the exchange market, but even if I would play daily 5 hours, I would be not able to afford the ongoing gold costs - not to mention that it's required for other features. | |
| " The trade website is still 100% fully functional. You can still trade that way using premium tabs, including "special" tabs. You can also still trade using Chat or the Forums. Or 3rd party tools. That said, it's true that Async trade lacks some features it would be nice to have. Like tab-wide pricing and the ability to set some other tabs (like Quad tabs) as Merchant tabs. And probably the map tab. We won't be getting merchant-ability on things like Currency or Essence tabs, because you can't put those things on that market, they go on the currency exchange instead. Since Async trade is brand new (we've had it for half a league in PoE2 and never before in PoE1), I'm sure there will be improvements to it in the future. | " But this still makes a huge difference and requires player interaction. With all humble respect, but I don't leave a T17 map or boss battle, for a low value offer or prefer to be flooded by whispers. With the old system I got the information about an offer and could decide if it's worth to sacrifice a portal or not. A patient player (and yes patience is a not the key strengh of some players) are willed to wait a few minutes until a offer got accepted. Replacing a working system with a half-baked solution doesn't let the people cheer. Believe me for very active players on the market the change makes a huge difference. For console players it would have been a much bigger upgrade if the existing system would stay, but offers would have been automatically accepted, including offline players. This would also prevent market manipulation, which definitely was a topic with the current system. As stated before I like the asynchronous approach, but I still feel cheated. I purchased several special tabs with the intention to put items on the market and the core system changed so massively that the initial usage is no longer granted. | |
| " This isn't different? Like, when someone whispers you for a trade, it says what the offer is. You can decide if you want to leave. You can also whisper them back with "2 min" or whatever, which you can't do on the TM. And Async doesn't even require you to leave the area. The trade just happens without any action from you. You can collect your currency later. Trades can happen when you're offline. " I mean, this is exactly what Async trade does. It even has an in-game interface (not necessary to use the website). " I hear this. For some things (like maps) we will probably get some kind of later update that fixes this. Meanwhile, you can still sell them through the website, etc. For the stuff that goes on the currency exchange, I don't see it. Like, if you wanted a Div Card tab or an Essence tab, you were going to buy one even if you couldn't sell out of it, and they don't charge extra for "premium" on those tabs, they are premium by default. I guess if you bought a 2nd copy of some tab specifically selling (I know some Essence farmers do this), then it's worth grumbling about. EDIT: Also, if we didn't want them to release in an imperfect state, we would just never get it. They have a limited amount of time to work on stuff, and so it makes more sense to release it "good enough" and then fix the bad parts later. In any case, my suggestion would be: try it out after it launches, and then make specific suggestions based on your actual experience with it. GGG does actually listen to player feedback. I would expect it has more credence when it comes from experience rather than expectation, though. Last edited by QQPQ#9136 on Oct 29, 2025, 5:14:07 PM | |
| Just as an example: I got two map stashes. One which is set to private and I storage the maps I really want to run and an additional public one with 5200+ maps on sale. Maps can’t be sold via Currency Exchange Market since it's no currency. Selling via whisper doesn't make sense at all, since maps are very cheap items. Bulk sells are very very rare on consoles, not like on PC. To keep the current state and switching to the new system would force me to use 36 (!) merchant tabs instead of one .... I repeat ONE TAB. And my existing public tab is basically just a storage tab instead of a market tab - it's not really connected to (in-)direct transactions. And with other special tabs like the uniques it's even more worse, since the items are larger and need more space in a "normal" tab. In the unique tab you can store and until recently place hundreds of items on the market. Async trade is great for crafted items or bases, because we always used premium tabs for these before and I don't mind to convert them. But everything which we could sell previously from a special tab directly has become obsolate. And people have paid real money for the special tabs in order to place the items on the market. All my lifetime in-game transactions were for stash tabs, since I simply don't care about cosmetic items. So this change has a high impact for me. And without going into detail I was qualified for the PoE II Early Access, so we not talking about 20-30 bucks. | |
