Crafting needs a massive overhaul

I think in this day and age developers don't have to put everything into the game. We are in a digital era where every game with in-depth mechanics has a hundred websites and a thousand videos detailing everything. So them adding the info into the game changes basically nothing. And some players also like to play blind, as in learn the game from trail and error. The way the game is setup now gives players a choice.

You are mistaken about not changing anything. If that’s the case why would they implement the ingame market? Could even remove the trade website from GGG, like the very start people had to chat ingame or went to the forum to trade items, we are living in the digital era after all, all are connected right? It’s the principle of saving players time and also the first impression for new comers. I didn’t start with poe 1 first, instead with poe 2 I can cook my own build because it is more intuitive to understand the game with just holding ALT and you get more info directly ingame. Then I tried the poe 1 new league and it doesn’t explain shit, you are basically lost if you don’t follow a guide. It’s bizarre that some people think poe 1 can attract new players on its own without poe 2.

To be fair I played Diablo 2 when it was popular. And that game had no in-game market. Players simply hosted games and you joined the game and traded. And I don't think the in-game market really enhances the experience that much. Does it save time? arguably yes if you're looking for a very specific item. But It is also just acts similar to a cheat menu. You just type in the item you want and then get the item.

As for showing all of the info for crafting inside of the game. I think it won't change much and won't really enhance the experience. And removes a lot of the "discovery" aspect from the game that happens at the start of the league. I just don't see why it enhances the experience. By mid-late league it would do the same thing as a third party website. And at the start of the league it tells people everything they need to know without having to discover it for themselves. So there's no benefit (as I see it).

The amount of time you would have to spend in a tutorial to learn all this would be identical to using a 3rd party site. Its not something anyone needs to learn to do to enjoy the game. You dont even utilize it until you hit endgame. Not everyone gets to endgame anyways. Some dad gamers enjoy pushing campaign and getting a spec online. For those that want more there is an ocean of resources and content creation tailored to showing you the ropes.

I highly recommend craftofexile.com where you can use the emulator to practice crafting on imaginary currency so you can brick fake items and get the feel for the system before you start going ham in-game.

Anyways, there are so many tooltips in this game the trail is there for us to follow and people did and their labors are online :).

Crafting could be a bit more deterministic if you ask me. Create more modifiers for more powerful characters and more deadly content but also create more tags for modifiers and more currency to use them!

Crafting in POE2 is to be honest a pretty shitty experience.

Not the experience is shitty. It's merely full of pain. The crafting itself is shitty. When you spend 700 divines to craft an item which you will possibly sell for that same 700 divines some day is barely inspiring. The other time you can get the same item mod you are missing with just 1 slam...

It's not complicated or hard, it's just shitty slot machine - this is the core concept, poor and miserable. Have no idea why they decided the gambling at this extent is supposed to be fun at first place. And for sure it has to be reworked at some point to be actually involving.

Crafting is in a good place with the addition of different tier chaos exalted orbs. The problem is with the abyss mechanic only.

I don't understand why its acceptable to rely on third party sites to provide players with fairly core information about how the game works.

It took this team of developers 10 years to develop a relatively functional in-game trading interface. And because they want you to see other players' mtx, you have to go to a hideout to get the item instead of simply buying it. Taking that into account, they'll probably sell "crafting UI" for $150 or so in 2030 and call it "new technology," and other developers will literally be exploring new universes.

I have to click every currency on the floor, while they can easily navigate to my currency tab with 5 paragraphs of code written by GGG in 2025. I don't know what else to say about how they deliberately waste your time with nonsense, thanks to their lack of ability to entertain you in a game that's supposed to be complex or deep but then turns out to be a flashy anime teenager farming simulator.

Last month I helped 10 or more newbies to make their unique builds together. 5 or 6 of them left the game at the levelling stage because they found it too punishing and un-fun and 2 of the other guys literally RMTed their builds, both of them are playing sparks and zooming now. One of them told me he got 200 divines for 10 euros, which I can only get by 3-4 days of farming or insane crafting methods.
Neden yaşıyorsun?

It would be cool if you could reasonably craft without being ludicrously wealthy.

Crafting is out of the picture for I bet around 95% of the player-base because most of the crafting orbs are more valuable being sold to wealthy crafters than using yourself, unless you're one of those wealthy crafters that can afford to use them.

When I watch crafting videos, they're literally spending more currency to brick an item than the entire value of my account with hundreds of hours of gameplay.

If you're SSF, you literally can't craft. You'll never find the currency you need to make anything useful. You're stuck with just gamble "crafting" because the deterministic currencies are so rare.
