Hive Fortress as melee / short range?

Even after patch im still finding them quite hard. I have a 6L now, but in t11 map i barely got to 12 waves. At least we get some gear from it, but still too hard as bleed quake.

I don't know what the fix is, but it just feels like i cant get as much reward as screen clearing builds.


You got baited buddy. If you want to do league mecahnics like this playing bleed quake may not be the best build to do it all. League mecahnics hold no requirement to be farmable on any build

Yeah, well the fortress stinks. Baited or not baited. Playing RF, lvl 83 fortress is a waste of time, while some glass canon bow andy builds can just do it.
Hive Fortress is a nice try, but bad game design. THe league emchanic overall is nice so at least give bloodjuice for trying and not completing the hive fortress, because thats what its all about, i def do not care aobut random loot from those waves. Guess i go do some ultimatums then. Def not going in another Fortress if it stays that way.
i find it weird that we've had so many "defend" mechanics and only now people are saying melee is bad at defend mechanics

where you guys at when blight released?

similarly defending petrified trees.

but yeah, its especially hard to defend with melee. i could be busy dealing with a pack while another comes out from a different side.

as a trumelee er i m forced to run around a lot. but its nothing new. thats how it is in poe

Because melee didnt really start getting played a lot until they added overexertion and auto exertion. A lot of these people flocking to melee don't know the struggles of some mechanics.

Not baited at all. I played this build years ago and have been wanting to revisit it. Sure i knew it would be suboptimal, but the fact I actually can't succeed with the main seasonal mechanic just sucks.

reminds me back in sanctum where even some streamers themselves advise their viewers that its gonna be rough in melee, some people are like "melee is fine"

on bloke even showed me a vid of a guy doing a no hit melee run.

in the vid the player is killing everything in literal seconds. lmao.

of course melee is fine if ure strong enough to delete everything

holy moly. i'm strong enough to handle hive waves. but as a melee-er its really difficult. sometimes the npc seems to get attacked anyway despite my best efforts.

a friend of mine is weaker than me, but due to him playing range, his experience has been significantly more positive.
