a) You are playing a PC game, you are already in the privileged category. Gaming is not in Maslow's Hierarchy

b) Presumably you are playing on a gaming PC purchased sometime within the last 10 years, and paying for internet that can support an online game, and have the free time in your life to use to play the game. Again, you are already in the privileged category.

3. This backlash at GGG for charging for new things is even more absurd. You want to play a free game, for decades, with new content every 3 months. And then you also want to complain when the content is late, when your favorite build is nerfed, when features are missing, etc. These people do this for a living. GGG is a company. Yes, the game is F2P, but the company does have to continue to exist. The fact that they manage to keep it F2P as it has evolved over the years is a miracle, and people still complain about the system that enables that to begin with. Mind blowing, really.

+1 to this. I can understand you can't afford a 50$ or 100$ pack, that is considered expensive in a lot of countries and for a lot of income ranges. But 3$?

If you have a gaming PC that can run POE you can afford 3 bucks to pay for a merchant tab in a game that you've been playing for free for years. This game and the devs (and not just the devs, their entire team, artwork and sound guys, everyone) sure deserve it.

Is it P2W? Honestly yes, I think it is to some extent. But with the amount of work, content and effort that's been put into the game, if you can't spend 3$ a league (assuming there will be more such content in the future, which tbh is very unlikely), you don't deserve to enjoy these great new QOL features.

As a disclaimer I will say that yes, this can be potential cause for concern and it is something that could at some point in the future turn into a foul and abusive practice. But for now I choose to trust GGG that it won't get to that, given the amount of free content we've received so far.

People on here do seem to assume a lot about people's situations, and I always find that fascinating. While Yes, I consider myself in a fortunate situation as far as being able to game online, not everyone is.

Internet cafes and friend/family member's borrowed PC's are all too common nowadays so I wouldn't assume a $5 digital purchase is nothing to everyone around the world. (And if you know how to only spend $3 when the minimum purchase is $5, please share)

I admit my original post was overly dramatic so I've edited it now. Partially it was meant to be to get attention, but also to think about the fact that it's a real possibility if enough changes like this happen over time.
