This patch finally broke me
|
Ever since we got the Ruthless crusade I feel like it has been shoved down our throats despite that mode flopping so hard Chris retired shortly after. With every new league both 1&2 get worse instead of better. Both are boring slogs with the ceiling constantly getting raised without adding any extra fun. It’s just tedium for tedium sake.
Never has killing monsters in a game based on killing monsters felt worse to me outside of D4. I have no interest in becoming a mindless slave to feeding other people with beasts or blueprint’s while ignoring the rest of the game. I typically always played where I would switch mechanics to farm what I needed and just sell the rest I didn’t to have the divas to benchcraft as I craft all my gear. That’s dead to me since the Atlas rework and memories going away. But I am going to be honest after seeing the interview where the sole balance guy basically admitted it was pure vibes I knew I was not long for this game. I have played off and on since beta but it’s finally time to depart. Best of luck to you all in the future but I don’t see myself as part of it. Last bumped on Nov 14, 2025, 10:29:52 AM

Lmao what?
This is the easiest the game has ever been, which was also true last league, and the league before, and the league before. The reality is that D4 bombed so hard that the powers-that-be realized there's zero competition in the ultra casual ARPG marketspace right now, and they've been deliberately dumbing PoE1 down to fill the vacancy because there's good money to be made. You debatably have a point if you are talking specifically about the second game, but PoE1? No. We are the furthest thing from ruthless imaginable, I got my preferred base six link body armor in act eight. That would have been inconceivable just five or six years ago. |

Nah, he has a point, the loot is butchered together with some mechanics, instead of doing the game more fun by keeping possible progression they are trying to make it less fun.
It seems 'more balanced economy' aka killing drops from maps, is more important than having fun. |
|
" How exaclty does getting a six link a bit sooner than usual translate to game being easier than ever? The game is not easier at all, just less grindy. But since top end grind got extended with raw currency being more scarce than usual it extends the grind right back to the usual or even more so and in the end its not even less grindy. POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1. |

Of course it's easier. The new mechanic is a joke and hasn't introduced something strong to fight at all. Almost everyone who complains about drops already farms juiced tier 17s even though they are supposed to be top content. Realistically with a good build the game ends on week one, the only reason to stick around is to try other builds.

I didnt hit endgame endgame yet so I cannot say for sure but the newly introduced ubers looks like more of a bullet hell than usual and I would assume that shit will need more gearing than usual. So beyond the fact that peoples gearing progress was kinda front loaded due to tree I dont think the overall challenge was lessened this league. They still to need to grind for raw currency which may end up being an even longer grind than usual this league and the new bosses may very well be actually harder than previous ones.
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.

There's literally nothing in this game that can't be outgeared. The "challenge" IS getting the gear.
Therefore, if they make the gear stupifyingly easy to obtain... |
|
|
Then this is a bad game that is played exclusively for the grind lol and they also made it worse by adding the tree that frontloads the progression.
Now there are tree paths: 1. smooth out the curve for this league and if everything up to currency heavy progression was basically skipped relax the currency bottleneck 2. remove the treethat caused this, lmao 3. do nothing and for the rest of the league no one cares about anything except divine orbs POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.

" ... Yes? The economy has always been a fundamental aspect of PoE since the beginning. If everyone receive divines almost as commonly as chaos, then divines lose whatever value they had and you'll have to farm for a bunch of them to do any kind of trading. If your idea of having fun in the game is seeing divines drop hand over fist, you desperately need to readjust your expectations to something that won't destroy the economy. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |
|
" Tell me, which economy was better 3.26 or 3.27? 3.26 shit tone of loot from maps (divs didn't lose that much value right?) 3.27 has scarce loot but a tree to me it looked like, 3.27 economy is messed up additionally, when there is MORE loot, players tend to make MORE builds, and play MORE. I had 3 END game builds last league, each worth mirrors. This league I got one END game char and I am pretty much done with the league as there seem to be not much interesting to farm, outside of blight or strongboxes |
