I tried giving PoE2 a chance
" It's a slog Dark Souls wannabe, and fails at Dark Soul hilariously. |

" In theory, they wanted this in POE1 also, but they don’t understand that to do this, they also need to slow down enemies. |

" Lack of gear can explain it. You can get lucky and get some nice drops to start off with. A well-rolled weapon can carry you to Act 3 and beyond. |

Yeah concerning above comment, my opinion is the first act should be less difficult than it is. By the time you hit act2, a lot of factors start unlocking and more gear starts to drop. NPC's functions are less restrictive, skill choices are less restrictive, it seems to me that the game gets easier in many regards.
I see no good reason for having it like this, especially for HC. Let the difficulty build. POE1 is like this as well to a certain extent, but in POE1 it is much easier to farm out a bit more power where needed, where as in POE2 it is more gated behind rng. As above comment, if you manage to get a good weapon, things get a lot easier. By act2 it is less of a problem, but I found as a casual, the first act was a bit grindy, particularly the first half. |

I find poe2 to be a lot easier to play. There are less nonsense mechanics and content clutter.
I find myself more interested to play and I play poe2 for a lot longer each season. I also really prefer the slower Pace. My main critique of Poe is the high-speed. To each, their own! Last edited by sempuken#7215 on Nov 24, 2025, 11:48:57 AM

" Show me your above average build. |
|
" hard to know if you're having a build issue or skill issue without watching footage. Are you chipping away at the boss HP very slowly or are you being wiped out by a one shot? |

I'd say some skills would work with some support gems but those support gems are too punishing at damage wise. Let me give an example ;
Freezeshard Crosbow Skill is really good only if you can use "Chain" Support Gem. But doing so reduces it damage by half. You wanna add extra ammo support gem , bam now your reload speed reduced by half. You wanna add Pinpoint critical support to increase your crit chance at early game? Good luck now you have almost no critical bonus damage. Can list whole day long but i guess you got the point. |

Just boggles my mind. I don't play these types of games in general. When POE2 EA was getting ready to release I was bored out of my skull so I bought a basic pack.
Absolutely fell in love with the game and upgraded packs and continue to support the game. Now the very first phase I made a lot of mistake, often wasn't paying enough attention etc Yes some of it even seemed pretty difficult the very first play through because I don't play these kinds of games. Since then every single new league has been easy... campaign wise and that's actually my favorite part. Once you are into endgame which somehow people can try to make vague on the forums even though we all know what endgame is... I just get bored. So how I continue to see people post that the game is difficult is the mind boggling part to me. There are certainly things that could be improved without doubt. Endgame being the weakest part of the game (my opinion). Which is why when I get bored I just pack up and wait for next league because the first few weeks to a month is my favorite time in each league anyway. I dont find this game hard. And i never followed guide or anything, my builds are very under average lol
But also i never played poe1 so i dont know what people expect from this game. Compared to other combat games in general it's fairly easy imo. First playtrough is more difficult cause you need to learn boss patern but than it's ok even with bad gear, just dodge roll all over the place and hit in between you'll be fine =) SSF player
