This is an immensely frustrating game for many players

I understand GGG's vision that "scarcity" is intended to be the core philosophy behind the item crafting system. However, my experience this league has been deeply discouraging. Speaking just about the rare rings I crafted, I made a total of 15 this season. The outcome was that only 3 were successfully corrupted with a good outcome, 3 remained unchanged, and the other 9 were rendered practically useless.

For an average player who doesn't invest real money, the total currency earned over an entire league might not even cover the cost of crafting a single high-end ring. And all that investment can be erased with the click of a single Vaal Orb.

Furthermore, while GGG explicitly forbids real-money trading (RMT), it feels like an open secret. How many of those top-tier items showcased on tracking sites like Ninja are truly self-crafted? The vast amounts of Divine Orbs used in these trades are quantities that a regular player likely couldn't farm naturally, even if they played until the end of Path of Exile 2's lifecycle.

Another point of contention is the reward structure. After grinding to reach a respectable 350% item rarity—a significant achievement for a solo player—a full day of dedicated farming might only yield a profit of 4 or 5 Divine Orbs. It creates a feeling of immense effort for a disproportionately small return.

its because there's still no hard aspirational content present in poe2. now the pinnacle juicing is 3 deli oils + alchemy + 2 exalts and you go. that's why clearspeed is so important. you don't need defenses or high dps - you need speed with cheap "alch and go" strategy.

they need to add both hard tile loot strategies like poe1 ubers, invitations, scarab farm, poe1 ultimatum, poe1 blight, poe1 sanctum with tile loot which are extremely suitable for new players and do not require giga build.

and they also need to add top-end juicing with scarabs, sextants, t17 mods etc giga maps for giga build.

now the game is giga dull and shallow and there's no content 1 week after launch. let's hope that 0.4's promised endgame rework gonna change something

It less than "open secret" and more like "common knowledge".

You search something about the game - open some site, and first thing: currency adds.

You scroll a bit down: "this item is rare, check our market" followed by a link to the market.

Or you search sanctum mechanics - "try out our carry service".

You are pissed off, I am pissed off.
Biggest question: is GGG pissed off?

I mean how many people will be so much pissed off to stop playing? Very few.

And how many people will use the game to make money? A lot.

So do they want "very few" people to play their game, or "A lot" people?
The answer to this question is stupid simple...

So at the end, you and me buddy can be pissed off all we want. No one will pay attention to us.

The main issue is that this game provides far too little positive feedback for hardworking players, and is even filled with malicious intentions.

Starting today, I will record gameplay and gather materials to create videos exposing how exploitative this game truly is.

I heard quite a number of players say that last time GGG said that the game is balanced around trading.

If you are not relying on trading but go in the direction of solo-crafting, you might be doing something wrong and heading in the wrong direction.

Also, I think that no amount of playing organically grinding content and solo-crafting will outperform a hideout warrior doing things like buying low, selling high, arbitraging, flipping, etc, etc.

if you really insist on playing the game the "organic" approach, then I think that your next best approach would be to learn and master rarity bot 500 600 700++. But then you will also need to gather a party of 6 players in order to make things work and to make div drop from the sky.

In the early game, I definitely rely on the trading system to purchase transitional gear. But in the late game, you always prefer crafting equipment with specific mods tailored to your build's needs—this is precisely the fundamental reason why I fell in love with this game in the first place.

As a solo player, and I believe the vast majority of players feel the same, we have no interest in "forced group play" or scripting with bot armies. Is that really what GGG intends for us?

I agree. I'm sitting at ~150% rarity and it feels like the time I put into playing the game is not worth it. There are multiple reasons for this, but most of them come down to what feels like extreme scarcity of pretty much everything.

With the little amount of currency I've made over the 4.5 days of playtime on my main character, I just don't want to risk it all on crafting a single really good item. Especially not with the odds stacked against me. I don't even want to corrupt my current equipment for a chance of say an additional rune slot because it would just be too much of a financial loss if it goes sideways. And purchasing better items is not an option since prices are higher than the amount of Divs i have collected in my playtime.

So now I find myself in this loop of wanting to play the game and making progress, and not feeling like the rewards match the time i need to invest. Then i just turn off the game after a few maps.

To me it seems like there is a big progression gap between reaching red maps and perfecting your equipment. This should definitely take some grind, but right now I feel like I'm making no progress at all.

I totally relate to this – every word of it. Before I "asked a friend for some d," my experience was almost identical to yours. Maybe, just like most people do, you’ll have to do the same – ask a buddy to lend you some d,a lot of d,haha

I am an average Joe. Once I have spent around 700 divines to craft an item, I didn't brick it in the end and decided to stop at the point when I will sell it for the same 700. I didn't sell it for 700, only for 500 divines. Not really a big loss I thought, without knowing about an amount of currencies the other people have. Now it turns out this is a fortune for some people outhere! Surprising.

Notice, I am an average Joe with 150-200 hours this league, speaking to another average Joe. Where is the difference? And what we were doing different?
