0.4.0 "Deadlock Detected"

I think i've fixed it by deleting steam shader caching.

///excerpt from searching:

To delete cached shaders in Steam Path of Exile, follow these steps:

Navigate to the Steam installation directory and delete the contents of the shadercache folder located at Steam\steamapps\shadercache.

Additionally, delete the ShaderCache folders within the game's local data directory, which can be found at Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile\.
If using the Steam version, disable shader pre-caching in Steam Settings under Downloads → Shader pre-caching to prevent the game from using pre-cached shaders.

/// end excerpt from searching

so deleting the shader cache ON FIRST BLUSH seems to have fixed my issues. ALT+TAB works now. nothing freezes. this might be the thing.

I think the evidence points to shader caching. someone else delete the shadercache and post here.
UPDATE: as soon as the shaders regenerated, the problem came back.

UPDATE to the UPDATE: switched to dx12. deleted shaders. let them regen again. game seems stable, ALT+TAB working after shader regen.

switching to vulkan seems to make the system go buggy again.
Hi

I'm having the same problem with the "Deadlock detected" message.

However, I can't continue playing the game because it freezes immediately and doesn't restart on its own.

I don't have to do anything special; I can just stand around in town, and after about a minute, the error occurs.

I haven't installed any other tools that I could uninstall that might be causing this.

If you get banned for this error, that would be a huge fail by GGG.

My system:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super

It almost seems like it's an Nvidia issue affecting PoE2.
Neogod, before you log in to any character, can you go into options, the gear at the top left, go to display options, switch to Direct X 12? after that save your config, and follow these instructions to delete the shader cache. once the shader cache is deleted, try logging in again. it will take a small eternity to boot the game up again, but after that you should be stable.

To delete cached shaders in Steam Path of Exile, follow these steps:

Navigate to the Steam installation directory and delete the contents of the shadercache folder located at steam/steamapps/shadercache/2694490/

once your done with all that, post here so we can see if everything is stable or if everything is still borked.

Yea unless you have streamer client lol
+1
OK

I switched to DX12 BUT didn't clear the cache.

After switching to DX12, it took quite a while to load, and then I went straight into the game.

Now, about every hour, I get a freeze in the game for about 15 seconds. Then the loading screen appears, the image rebuilds, and I can continue playing without getting kicked out or seeing error messages.

Not perfect, but better.

This problem did occur before, though, with PoE1.

I hope GGG fixes it quickly, because I have a bad feeling it's not good for my graphics card. :(
Have this problem, can't even restart my pc.
same here from today. Can't play -
5080
9800x3d

occurring after the crash
